Oh boy – at last….at last….some Springish weather and it makes me perky! I must have asked Mom 50 times yesterday to let me “OWWWWA” the front door and I’d roll around on the front porch then want to come right back in (which was fine with Mom because she’s always with me and she was TRYING to do laundry!!). I was in/out/in/out/in/out! The sun was out and it was only 50 degrees but so what – it felt like Spring was finally in the air.
Mom put the Spring wreath on the door!
Thank all of you my dear friends for all the encouraging words about my checkup Friday. We will get my blood test results back tomorrow and with some luck, even though I’m being stubborn about taking my pills, I’m getting ENOUGH medication to help. Meanwhile, Mom went on a little shopping trip today to find a few things we could TRY as alternatives to my former favorite thing in the universe – YOGURT.
She got: anchovy paste (which I tasted and it wasn’t too bad….we may give this another try), kippered herring (intriguing, sardines in spring water (interesting), and several types of baby food which I’m not sure I’ll like but I’ll try anything for Mom’s sake. This ought to be interesting! If none of this works, we will probably get the transdermal gel (assuming we can find a place to do the compounding).
SO – enough about me – how about you? Did you have a good weekend? We had a Sadie Hawkins Dance/Cookout at Scouts and I know you’re just DYING to see some photos……….ready?
Guess I’ll go see what Mom’s gonna try on me next with the pills……….let’s see – I’m thinking I might like that sweet potato baby food……sounds good doesn’t it? Tee Hee

The anchovy paste wasn’t as big a hit as Mom hoped but I didn’t NOT eat it – just didn’t want but a taste. However the sweet potato/chicken baby food WAS a hit and I had MOST of my pill this morning with it! WOO WOO WOOOOO!

What a great Saturday we had a Scouts. Dezi did a pawtastic job organizing and hosting the event. You like the baby food better than the anchovy paste? Usually mom just puts our meds in a pillar and pries our mouths open and shoves the pill in. We do get a treat if we don’t fight too much. LOL

Hi Charles! You’re right – Dezi did a great job and I told her so because I’m happy others are stepping up and doing some of the parties and events – it’s a lot of work but SO MUCH FUN isn’t it???? Yep – I liked that sweet potato/chicken baby food Mom tried on me – in fact I ate MOST of my medication in it this morning. Mom says “most” is better than NONE!! My Mom probably could do the pill tube thing but she’d have to catch me first (hahahaha).

Hi gang! Yep – Spring just might be here although one of the weather guys said there might be snow showers after midnight but we’re thinking NOT HERE – maybe west of us or north of us. It’s a pretty day here but cold – only 36. Mom was very happy when I took that pill…….VERY!

And if you need your med compounded and you can’t find anyone local to you to do it, there are a number of vet pharmacies around that will ship to you. We use one in Houston, TX and there’s another one in NJ that’s very good. Let us know if you need more info!

Oh thanks a TON for the info!!! Mom will certainly ask for help if we can’t find one around here…….you’re the BESTEST!!!!!! I did give Mom a break this morning and ate most of my pill when she gave me some of that sweet potato/chicken baby food………..I thought it was pretty yummy. Mom thinks I really did get MOST of the medication in the few licks I took.

Yippee for good weekends! Especially weekends with lots of new foods to try! Our weekend was relaxing but with big booming storms yesterday. Our mom joined us hiding under the bed and we snuggled together. Happy Spring!

YIKES on the storms!!!! We haven’t had a storm yet but did have some snow on the first day of Spring – thankfully it heated up that afternoon into the 50s and it all melted…I’m so tired of winter and want some beautiful spring weather!!!!! Those food selections sound excellent Sammy. I, myself, like baby food….I’m just praying this is not made from babies. Mom says no this is what babies eat. That’s ok then. Hi Shoko! My doc says the baby food is fine and dandy to use – I do like the sweet potato taste so that’s the winner as far as I’m concerned out of all that stuff Mom got! The transdermal gel is rubbed into the ears – isn’t that cool? I love my ears rubbed so if I had to have the gel, I’d tolerate that just fine and dandy! Nice ear massage while I’m getting my medicine! No wearing of the cone – it gets rubbed in and that’s that!

Sammy, We think the Sadie Hawkins Dance was one of the most fun events at Cat Scouts. But they are all great. It was fun to see ourselves in some of the photos you’ve posted. Sammy, Mom still swears by the bacon-flavored pill paste. You can get it on Amazon! We’ve got some daffodils blooming and some trees are getting leaves, so spring is definitely here. Yippee. I’m glad you’re seeing Spring – we’re still waiting here……..this morning when Mom and I were out for our first walk it actually SNOWED for about 30 seconds – WHAT’S WITH THAT?!?!?! We may have to resort to bacon flavored pill paste but I found the anchovy paste interesting too. What fun ho-down photo’s ! LOL, I never can walk in cowboy boots, they feel like ski boots to me. Mom’s working so hard to find just the right thing for your p.i.l.l.s. When my kitty was sick, I was given some stuff in a tube that was like a cream, that smelled and tasted like banana. The medicine was inside and I’d just smudge it onto Gingers paw and of course, she’d immediately want to clean it off….tricky hey? Maybe your pharmacist can make that up for you. I think they powderize the medicine and mix it into the cream and then put it into a tube. Good luck my dears xoxooxo
