It’s off to the Vets’ I go!!!    That’s right – 9AM this morning through the snow we got last night which is lingering this morning and doesn’t really amount to much (thank heavens) – I’m in the car heading to the doc.   Mom has had a heck of a time with me lately refusing my pill but managed to get about a third of the pill powder down me yesterday.     I AM A LITTLE BOOGER!!!   That’s what she tells me when I refuse my pill………tee hee.  I know I must quit doing that – I need the meds.

So I’ll be sure and report tomorrow how horrid the visit was although we won’t have my blood work info until tonight or Monday.  Don’t worry – I’ll share.

Other than this ridiculous last minute snow which I suppose is supposed to frighten us into thinking winter is coming BAAAAACK, things are nice and quiet around here.  That’s because as a special favor to me, Mom and Dad said they would NOT get the Monster out of the closet until TOMORROW!   That’s so I can relax when we get home from the doc, and Mom can devote her lap to my needs.   Sounds good to me!  Mom said she might even fry me up a piece of bacon as a “GOOD BOY” when we get back.

Today is the first official day of Spring…………………isn’t that grand?

Tomorrow at Cat Scouts we’re celebrating Spring with a Sadie Hawkins Party and Dance.   That should be fun!   I’ll share photos with you after I’ve got some snapped……..we’re having a barn dance and BBQ and all manner of fun.

  4. We join your many friends in crossing our paws your vet visit goes well. You are not the only kitty who can be a stinker when it comes to taking medicine, there have been a few guilty medicine mischief makers in our family too!
    Hopefully your visit is so impressive Mom will be helpless when it comes to how much bacon you receive! We wish we could join you in consuming delicious BACON!!!! *drooling, licking chops*
    Have a pawesome time at the Cat Scouts dance, we have no doubt you have had many ladycats invitations as a date, your handsomeness known to bring about swoons, coos, and purrs. 😻💙

    • Hi Ms. Phoebe! THanks for the positive thoughts for today’s vet visit. Yes I have been a MAJOR stinker about my meds….I’m hoping the doc will call us tomorrow or Monday and say “even though he doesn’t take his meds regularly his thyroid level is FINE”……..that’s what I’m dreaming for anyway! Mom has promised an abundance of bacon if I behave at the vets…..I’m gonna give it my all! Cat Scouts is SUPER DUPER fun………we’re always doing something grand there and the dance will be going on all day long – we’ll all be exhausted when it’s over! Thanks too for the compliments – makes an old guy feel good!

  5. Sending you special thoughts and hugs this morning, Sammy, as we embark on our “virtual” vet’s visits…my appointment is at 11. And you really MUST start taking those meds, you know…..
    How thoughtful of your pawrents to postpone Monster Day for you this week! They love you to bits, Sammy!

Well Sammy I am sure you will do super well today…and glad you have a break from the noise monster..lap time sounds like a win for mum too…let’s face she will be just as stressed as you hahahaah..and Cat Scouts sounds like they are having a great night planned to look forward too..so good idea both you and mum rest..loves Fozziemum xxx

      • Sammy!! now don’t make me come down there..or up there…you know I had to give our cat Meerlin Mc Tavish a lot of meds when he was diagnosed with FIV…and the only way I could trick him was stinky Pecks Anchovette paste…it was such a strong smell he could not tell..and if that hadn’t worked I was going to resort to Belacan or Shrimp paste..the Asian ingredient that even Asians say stinks to high heavens 🙂 o watch out mate or I will be on a plane with a toxic smelling shrimp paste 🙂 loves Fozziemum xx

        • Gosh Fozziemum….all of that stuff sounds delicious to me (hahahaha…just kidding)…..You’re right about the strong smells though – that’s the key – the more disgusting something smells to humans, the more appealing it is to us furries! Mom hasn’t given up – believe me – we’re gonna try everything in the universe – Mom already has some anchovy paste standing by and we’re also going to try sardine pate! See? We’re determined!

    • Oh she’s got the bacon standing by………we’ll leave here in about 20 minutes and I know the minute we get back that bacon will be frying away as my reward!!!!! I know I need to take that stinkin’ pill but it really DOES stink – no matter how Mom disguises it, it tastes and smells HIDEOUS! Anyway, I promise to do better…..cross my paws……..

  9. Hi Sammy, We hope you have a good vet appointment. When I was sick in November and had to take pills and then liquid meds, I really was a “booger” and scratched up my mom pretty good while she was trying to pill me. I hated that liquid stuff. Your mom and dad are sure nice to make you bacon, keep the vacuum hidden and have their laps available for your lap needs – so thoughtful.

    • Hi Calvin…..taking medicine is really just ICKY isn’t it? The doctor says it’s important that I get that one pill a day and told Mom to keep trying things on me that she’d find SOMETHING I’d eat the pill in so that’s what we’re gonna do. Usually I lap it right up in my yogurt but lately – not so much. But Mom’s a very persistent lady so I know we’ll solve this problem!!!! I’m glad you’re feeling better though……being sick is absolutely THE PITS!

    • Thanks Carol on the bacon wrapping idea….we tried that and I’m afraid it just didn’t work………sigh………..Mom will figure something out – the doctor said maybe baby food would work so we might try that but I’m FAR from a baby!!!!! HAHA

    • Oh Easy – the toughest part is taking the temperature don’t you think? Tee Hee……..thanks for the happy thoughts – at least it’s over with for 4 more months. I’ll know about my blood work Monday. Meanwhile, my other parts are in good shape….heart murmur no worse, kidneys good, no temperature, eyes clear – he did say after feeling my belly that I’m “full of poop” but I explained Mom whisked me out to the car before I could do my duty!

    • Mom talked to my doc about my medication thing and he says for Mom to just keep trying……if not yogurt, try baby food or anchovy paste (ick) or ANYTHING else I might eat. So that’s what we’ll do. I’m just glad I don’t have to go back for four more months!

        • Hi Siddhartha! Pill pockets don’t sit right with me (I barf them right up!) but I do like blueberry yogurt. I’ve been refusing ANY flavor yogurt lately though so that’s why Mom’s upset with me. I’m going to try to be better – the vet says I must have the pill PERIOD!!!!

  19. Oh Sammy I am late wishing you a good vet trip. Mom has been polishing and mopping and cleaning..why? Because my sis and brother in law are coming!
    And the crock pot mom was going to use to cook Bolognese sauce in died and mom had to make a made dash to buy a replacementhugs and see ya tomorrow

  22. Hope you have good news from the vet. Says we are supposed to get a small amount of snow this Sunday. Can you believe that? Tubby going to vet Tomorrow for ear. He will sing all the way. Have a great weekend.

  25. I hope everything went well at the vet Sammy. Did your mum ask about the gel? There is only one place in the UK that compounds it, so my vet had to order it from up country to get sent down here.

    Hope your blood work is fine! Xoxo! I don’t like taking meds too. Mom used to hide meds in treats. I would step on it to see if there was med. in there. And then I decided I have had enough so I ignored that entire bag of treat completely. Then it became a two-people job to feed me meds. Dad would hold me so mom could toss the stupid meds in my mouth. But i have to say, I felt so much better after taking those meds so maybe you should try it too.

    • Hi Zooey…..Mom tried the “whole pill in the mouth” thing and I either (a) spit it right back out again or (b) swallowed it then five minutes later threw it up along with my food!!!! HAHAHAHA Grinding it up has worked up until now – I’m just being a pain in the “you know what” about eating it in yogurt which I adore. Mom is VERY persistent though……!!!!

  29. We hope your vet visit went well. We think you deserve bacon after the trauma that they put you though. We hope you will take your nasty medicine. We know it is yucky but your mom worries about you when you don’t take it. The picture of the bacon loving kitty sure is cute. You need to tell those weather peeps in your area to just knock it off.     • I agree about the bacon being deserved after the trauma of being at the vet! Absolutely…….I even got more “make up” bacon today! I have however refused my medicine yet again so Mom’s pulling some of her gray hair out now. Oh well……I’ll give it another go later!!!!!

    • Please tell Sampy I’ll see him at the dance in a little while – it starts at noon and it’s almost time!!!! My vet visit is OVER WITH and now we wait for blood results…………..otherwise I’m “good to go” !!!!
