Here we are again, comparing prices of stuff all over the world which we find to be SUPER interesting and I bet you all do too……………this is part of Bacon and Fozziemum’s BLOG HOP and we hope you’ll take a peekie HERE after you see OUR prices to compare with the others because it’s amazing how different prices are!!
This month we were to shop for the following items – Olives, Light Bulbs, Room Freshener, Lettuce, AND a “Random Item”. Here’s our stuff!
1. OLIVES
At our store a 5.75oz. jar of Imported Spanish Manzanilla olives (Mom’s personal fave) from Harris Teeter (our grocery store)
2. LIGHT BULBS
At Harris Teeter a two-pack of 60 watt bulbs
3. AIR FRESHENER
Mom uses Lysol Neutra Air – Fresh Spray – the 16 oz. size
4. HEAD OF LETTUCE
Mom’s fave is Boston Butter Lettuce
5. RANDOM ITEM – we chose Kitty Litter! Can you guess why? Who’s the impawtant purrrrson in the house who uses this????
Arm and Hammer Clumping Litter – 20 lb. box $11.99
So there you have it – the truth about shopping in lovely uptown/downtown Warrenton, Virginia! How do we compare with where YOU are?????? Use the link above to Bacon and find out!
we should found an exchange-service. you can send me the light bulbs (wow you still can buy “normal” lightbulbs yay!) and I can send you the lettuce… we could save a lot of wonga that way… we only have to find a way to cover the shipping fees :o)

Hi Easy! YES on the light bulbs – they’re EVERYWHERE in all the stores (the old fashioned ones)….in fact, while the new bulbs are on the shelves, there aren’t as many of them as the old ones. Isn’t it fascinating how different things are all round the world????

Sammy we need a world-mall… and if a friend finds a bargain (except milk bucket boots) he can bring it to that mall, so we all can save some moolah :o)

I love the shopping blogs…..it’s just so interesting to see what everybody is paying for the same thing………..the old bulbs are EVERYWHERE here…..in fact, you don’t see many of the new ones around. I know they’re GOOD to use but they’re ridiculously priced!

Must try the Boston Butter lettuce! We still buy old bulbs, not a fan of the new ones! Don’t give off that warm glow.

I know! Apparently we’re just about the cheapest of all the blogs we saw yesterday with olives. They are the store brand and others are more expensive but who cares if they’re the SAME OLIVES right?

I agree about how much easier it would be to have a linkies tool for this – not sure if Bacon and Fozziemum plan to do that in the future to make it easier to get around and see everybody’s prices but it is TONS of fun!!

There are probably six kinds of lettuce at the grocery store and some are cheaper than the one my Mom gets…..iceberg is $.90 a head or cheaper usually. Mom gets the store brand of a lot of things and saves money too – like the olives for instance. Shopping Round The World is fun – it’s just amazing how different the prices are in different places!

We can’t get the old light bulbs either. Mum bought a lot online from what should have been a reliable source that she had bought things from before. She didn’t start using them for ages, but when she did they lasted a couple of months and then would explode. She threw them all away because they were dangerous. If she hadn’t had them in the cupboard for so long, she would have sent them back.
Those olives are a lot cheaper than here. Mum loves them and could eat them until they come out of her ears.
Our lettuce is cheaper though. She bought 2 Little Gem lettuce for 60p. which is about $.90

Lettuce seems to be cheaper almost everywhere but I must say that iceberg is about $.90……some of the lettuces are more expensive though. Thank heavens we can still get real (old) light bulbs EVERYWHERE here…..the new ones have icky light and aren’t as “warm” as the old bulbs are with the kind of light they produce.
Hugs, Sammy
p.s. if olives ever DO come out of your Mum’s ears, I hope you can grab the camera real quick!

Oh no I forgot about this day. If olives where that cheap here I would eat them all the time. Yum. I think they are like $3 for a small jar.

It’s lots of fun to compare prices with other blog buddies once a month. Bacon and Fozziemum pick good stuff to compare too……this month’s list was a goodie and Mom and Dad are both olive lovers like your Mom. At our grocery they have an olive bar and you can mix up like ten kinds of olives with other items like hot peppers, roasted garlic cloves, marinated mushrooms – Dad likes having that with his “Happy Hour”!!

Kroger used to have a store here – Food Lion took over that one….our Harris Teeter is the newest store in town and my Mom loves it. The Wegman’s about 15 minutes away though is the most amazing grocery store my Mom says she’s ever seen………..she says she could live there. HAHAHAHAHA
