Christmas Card Update

I’m starting to get so excited about Santa Paws coming…………..Mom promised to make some cookies for him and I’ll leave him some eggnog so when he arrives Christmas Eve at my house, he’ll feel welcome!   We’re even going to make sure the fire in the fireplace is LONG GONE OUT before we go to bed – I wouldn’t want to scorch Santa’s pants.

Thought I’d show you my Christmas card collection so far…………….Mom and Dad are QUITE envious as I have about five times the number they have (tee hee).   What can I say?  I’ve got a lot of friends!!!!!     These are just the ecards – I have a bunch of snail mail cards too…….THANKS EVERYBODY!

In fact, now that I think about it – it’s a “Thankful Thursday”……….and I really AM thankful for all my friends…………….HOLIDAY  HUGS ALL AROUND!

P.S.   One of my Scouting friends has just started her blog!  Won’t you stop by and welcome her to the blogosphere????  Foxy is her name and her blog is HERE!

P.S.S.   As is the way of the world, as one new friend arrives in the blogosphere, another one says farewell.   My friend Kyla the Scottie crossed the Bridge yesterday.  Her “Highland Games” were so much fun and many of you pawticipated in the Caber Toss that I hosted…..Kyla loved every minute of the Games.  She was a new friend but I will miss her like an old friend.  You can visit her blog HERE.

    • Thanks for visiting Foxy! You know how tough it is to get started in blogland but I think she’ll make friends quickly…….as for Kyla – so very sad even though not unexpected. I had hoped she could be with her family for Christmas at least but it wasn’t meant to be. Of course she really IS with them in spirit and always will be.

      • I sure know how tough it can be as a blogger starting out..i still struggle bawabaaaaa 🙂 so very happy to say howdy 🙂 and yes we cannot keep our sweet ones forever..we always want a little longer..we have noticed the last few weeks here a couple of pooches slowing down a bit and we know we are on the shorter side of our time with them…but wel ove them everyday and take each day as it comes…loves Fozziemum xxxx

    • Thanks so much for visiting Foxy you guys….I know she’ll appreciate that and she wants to make some friends in blogville so now she HAS thanks to you!!!!! I’m really rakin’ in the cards aren’t I? It was a sad bit of news learning about Kyla but knowing she’s no longer in pain helps….I think she’s keeping a close eye on her family now from the Bridge and always will.

    • Hi Easy! Yes indeed, Kyla’s family will be sad – even though they knew it was coming it’s just not EVER “expected”. We like to think that Kyla’s running free and without pain over that Bridge now…..

    • Hi Foxy! You’re welcome for the mention….hopefully we can get some more friends to visit you!!!! Glad you’re blogging – I just love doing it although daily is a LOT to keep up with sometimes. Thanks for the note about Kyla…I didn’t know her for long but she fought a brave battle with melanoma and it was time for her to go to a happier place. It’s always tough………….

  8. Good morning, Sammy….we’re late this morning because my mom OVERSLEPT. I’ve been impatiently stomping my paws, waiting for her to get to the computer. (Finally I stomped them on her chest – that did the trick)
    Your Christmas card collection is beautiful! Once again, my mom is a slacker…she hasn’t mailed yours because I hear that our pawrents are getting together just after Christmas….and I think she’s going to hand deliver…!

    • Hi Sundae! Hand-delivery is better than thru the mail anyway so my Mom and Dad will look forward to seeing them on the 29th! So your Mom overslept huh? Well she probably was exhausted from her busy day yesterday. Humans have no idea how to pace themselves do they?!?!?!?!

    • Gosh Miss Pix, I’m not sure if I should spike Santa’s egg nog or not. If I knew my house was his LAST STOP of the night I might but if he’s going on from here I wouldn’t want him to ACCIDENTALLY get confused in his drunken state and leave someone the wrong present!!!!!

  18. We’ve gotten lots of Christmas cards too. Our snail mail cards we have displayed around the house. It’s very festive 🙂 Mom was just saying yesterday how us kitties have gotten tons more cards than she and Dad have! MOL!
    Sampson is excited that Foxy has a blog. Going to check it out now!

    • Isn’t it funny that we kitties have our humans beat in the card department? That’s why the Scouts address list and the CB addresses changed how Christmas “looks” this year! CATS RULE! I’m glad Foxy has a blog too……it will be fun for her and her Dad!

    • Kyla was a new friend but we really got to know how well loved she was when we helped with the Highland Games tribute to her a few months ago. We hope she’s running free and easy now over the Bridge.

    • Hi Cupcake! Yes we think Kyla was around for a long time in blogville and had tons of friends…….we were “new” to know her – I guess the Highland Games was when we first met her and it was fun to host an event for her Games which was what she wanted instead of a “sad goodbye”. She knew then her time was limited and we hope she’s enjoying being pain free and happy over the Bridge with all those who have gone before.     • YES!!!! It’s funny because someone at the post office had written on the envelope “no such street number so deliver to 6066” so they knew what to do with it!!!!! YAY!!!! Thanks Flynn for sending it – it’s one of my favorite cards as you and your Mom and Dad look SO HAPPY together. Thanks for visiting Foxy – I know she will appreciate meeting so many great new friends!

    • Hi Austin! Thanks for visting Foxy – I was hoping maybe some friends would make her feel at home. She did another post yesterday and it was interesting to hear how she found her Dad. I really didn’t know Kyla until the Highland Games and the Caber Toss that I hosted for her special event……..she had a ton of friends though and her dry wit was wonderful when she’d comment on my blog.

    • Siddhartha I think it’s great that you and your Mom are playing dreidel…..it does look like fun to me too! We all celebrate this time of year – differently but one thing is the same – it’s all about LOVE. I know that you are very well loved and not just by your Mom but EVERYONE who has met you since you came to live with her. We were sad to hear about Kyla but it was just a matter of time and at least she’s no longer in pain from her cancer. I’m sure Nylablue was right there to welcome her……
