Purring on Thursday

Well when it’s this danged cold, what’s a guy supposed to other than hibernate – right?   I mean we haven’t had all that snow like folks up north have but when you wake up and the thermometer says TWELVE degrees and the wind’s blowing, you just know it’s PRETTY COLD.

COLDpiglet

SO, Mom snapped these shots of “this old guy” yesterday………….this is ME doing what I do best………….

I call this the "pre-sleep trance" position.....

I call this the “pre-sleep trance” position…..

SamSleepyface1

This is the “If you’d get that danged camera out of my face I’d put my head down and sleep” position!

I have no exciting stories of what I did outside when I was out there with Mom because while I have stuck my NOSE out the door a few times, I did not stick the REST of me out there.   No way.   And to think that in my youth (or at least a few years ago when I was younger than now) I used to do THIS!

Brrrrr!

    • Hi Kwees!!! Nice to see you….I’m glad you’re staying warm. It’s dreadfully cold – I’m wondering when the Scouts visit the North Pole next month if we’ll have to wear snowsuits while we feed Santa’s reindeer!!!! Glad you like my Santa Sammy badge Nellie made….isn’t it grand? Can’t wait to do my Christmas header on my blog!!!!! Hope to see you guys soon at Scouts.

  2. I wonder if I would like snow? Every few years, a couple of towns closer to the mountains get a little snow (really only a couple inches), and my human says that if that happens this year, she is taking me up to check it out! Okay, so it’s not like what you East Coasters get, but it’s probably the best I can do for now.

    • Summer, snow is interesting…..it’s cold on the feet but tastes pretty good…….these pix of me in the snow were from way back but I DID enjoy following Mom around in the yard….she’d make paths for me with her boots and I’d travel in the paths – she thought it was fun to make a kind of “maze” in the snow for me to follow. Humans are weird sometimes BUT it was kinda fun! If you ever do get to see snow, I’ll be anxious to hear how you like it!

Mom said she will start her x-mas shopping on black friday… and just between us, she thinks black friday is this week…. my dad decided to remain silent… think that’s a kind of special surprise for my mom :o) I will have the cam ready to paw, think the picture of her face on NON-black friday will be priceless…..

    • Hi Charles!!!! Great to hear from you……….yes indeed I’ve learned since the old days of romping in the snow that being INSIDE on a fleece blankie near a heat register makes so much more sense than freezing my feet off in the snow!!!! Glad you like Nellie’s badge she made for me – it’s way cool!

    • Know what? I agree! Hibernation is the answer…..that means a lot of animals are just plain SMARTER than we are because that’s what they do – they just crawl in a hole, get all warm and snuggly and WAIT for the weather to get better. Sounds good to me!

  13. Geez, your weather doesn’t sound much nicer than ours. It was +3 C or 38 F yesterday. Today it’s raining. Actually this is above normal for us but we’ll be seeing snow again tomorrow as it goes to 0 C or 32 F.

You were really brave to dash through the snow back then. Don’t we do silly things when we’re younger? I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end. When I was 16, we all drove over to a friends farm to have a bonfire. But first, we climbed up a tall haystack to watch the stars and drink beer. We were all teasing each other about falling off when suddenly the corner I was sitting on gave way and me and a friend fell probably 16 feet to the ground. He hit the ground first and I hit him. I cracked my chin open on his eye socket. We both ended up in ER for stitches. The moral of the story? Always sit in the MIDDLE of a haystack. hehe.

Well know you know, I was a rebel, LOL…ta ta 4 now ❤ Boomdee

    • You’re right Boomdee……….”silly stuff” is for the young……these days I just stick with “semi-silly”……!!!! That fall you had back when you were a teenager sounds like it could have been a WHOLE LOT worse!!! My Mom cracked her chin open when she was 3 or 4 too…..going down a slide! You and my Mom are “Chin-Sisters” !!!!!

      • Well, do say!? Chin-sisters, LOL I laugh! Let’s compare scares when we meet! Hey, did you know that Alys and I are coming to Washington in spring. Then staying with Julia of Defeat Despair in Yorktown Virginia and also Laurie of Life On A Bike. Do you live far from Yorktown? I think that’d be fab if we could swing it xox

        • Oh Boomdee that would make me happy but we are quite far from Yorktown…….we’ve been there before when we’ve visited Williamsburg though and you will love it. Southern Virginia is GORGEOUS. Washington, DC is insane but there’s a lot to see there’s no denying that! I have a small scar under my chin from my slide accident “way back when” but with all the chins I have these days (hahahahaha) nobody notices it but ME!

          • Drats, too far. Well, someday I’ll have to make a tour of Virginia. I’ve also been to Colonial Williamsburg on a previous trip. There’s so much to see and do in Virginia. We got engaged in Irvington, so I would love to get back there too. Never say never. xox

PS You silly girl, no one counts chins after 50, hehehe

          • Hi Boomdee! I remember you saying you got engaged in Irvington – there are so many truly adorable little villages/towns in Virginia but that’s true of the whole Northeast corridor……..I hope you have a blast in Yorktown and with Alys I’m SURE you will!!!

Chins? Did I say chins? Well, I ignore ALL of mine!!!!!!
