Boom!

Standard

Oh boy was it noisy around HERE last night!   Mom and Dad were gone for HOURS next door at a cookout then all of those folks came to our yard for fireworks…….tons of them……big boomers and little boomers and some pretty stuff too!   Then the real noise started just when all of those people in my yard went home – – – – just about everyone in the neighborhood began THEIR fireworks and there were more this year than EVER!

BOOM!   BANG!  WHOOOSH!  POP!  SCREECH!

FIREWORKS2

It was amazingly noisy.  Where was I during all of that?  In the garage………of all places I decided to hang out and feel safe during all the noise it was the garage I wanted to be in – not the basement or my tent!   Mom couldn’t figure it out.

So anyway, all of that is over with and to make up for putting me through that pure torture, I get EXTRA bacon this morning!  Whew!  I deserve it!

BACON!

BACON!

Did you have loud noisy fireworks where you are????   Do you have to hide when you hear all the noise or are you brave?!

"A Capitol Fourth" !

“A Capitol Fourth” !

I think I’m going to need lots of naps today – – – my usual sleep schedule was thrown off by the fireworks………….AND Mom and Dad not being home……….today will be a day of rest (and bacon).

HAPPY BACON CATURDAY!

Hugs, Sammy

    • Hi Shoko! What fun we had at Scouts….and your float was magnificent. Bacon is helping me forget about all the boomers around here last night – – – bacon is magic! Enjoy yours today too!

  1. Extra bacon is the LEAST you should get, Sammy! Any fireworks around here were not close to here. There was still a lot of noise – but we didn’t care! Boodie, in fact, slept through most of it.

    • Well I had big plans to just IGNORE the noise and have my usual evening but last night there were more fireworks than EVER EVER EVER in my neighborhood and I couldn’t ignore them! Bacon eases the pain though. HAHAHA

  2. ah that was clever to stay in the garage, so you were the first who can enter the getaway car. We have a very very quiet night because of the soccer thingy what “Les Bleus” lost last nigh :o) Have a super caturday with tons of bacon to “repair” your ears :o)

  6. I only heard a few, Sammy, but they had me completely confused. Motor Mommy tried to calm me by putting me on the bed (beside Motor Man) and covering me with my “blankie”, but I was having no part of it. Thankfully, it was just a few booms by neighbors – we’re too far away from the big stuff to hear it!
Happy Bacon Caturday! Enjoy your extra naps today.

  7. You were a brave boy, Sammy! You definitely deserve the extra bacon. I am not afraid of fireworks at all. But Mom had to carry me past a garden gnome the other day because I’m pretty sure it was trying to kill me.

  8. Glad you found a safe place. WE didn’t have the evil booms last night as we are in Canada however where we live we had St. Jean Baptist Day on June 24 and Canada Day on July 1, we had booms almost every night for a week! Hailey was not so brave . . . .

  9. Nice that you found a safe place Sammy. I kind of figured your Mom’s potato salad would be a hit! It was a beautiful day and then last night the neighbor down the road started up. It has been worse, so no complaints here and I suspect there will be more tonight. Glad you are enjoying your bacon this morning. CH and I shared two pieces yesterday morning.. 😀 AND egg and toast!!!

  13. You deserve lots of extra bacon for putting up with all those boomies. We get them on November 5th here but they usually start a week early and go on for a couple of weeks. Luckily they are not close by, but if it gets too loud I hide under the duvet.

    • I’m not sure why I chose the garage as my hideout this year when the fireworks started – Mom hasn’t got a clue why but that’s where I wanted to go so that’s where she let me stay. Anyway, they went on FOREVER – hopefully tonight there won’t be more!

  16. They must have had a major sale on fireworks this year because we had TONS more this year than ever too. So many that I sat on our balcony and filmed some and posted them on Facebook. I was NOT amused. Poor Dakota was about to lose his mind, even with the windows shut and the TV blasting. Cody couldn’t have cared less, he watches them and isn’t bothered a bit by them.

    • Strange isn’t it? So many more people did fireworks than EVER before – feeling extra patriotic? feeling like partying more? I don’t know – but we were ALL glad to get to sleep finally last night!! Cody’s way more brave than I am!!!!

  17. It was awful here for my kitties last night. Poor Garfield and Hope hide under the bed most of the night. Extra loud ones too. The others sort of tolerate it. Yum bacon! Sounds like a fun time your parents had. Have a great evening Sammy.

  19. I bet you were a little frightened, poor Sammy. Our city blew up the night sky and also lit up our local bridge with dancing lights while the symphony played O’Canada. It was the first time for the bridge lights to be on. They’re LED and strobe in a multitude of colour to music…Pretty wild. You can watch some of it here. (The lights are at the very beginning, so you don’t have to watch the whole video). xo B

    • WOW Miss Boomdee! That light show is spectacular! We’re out in the country so don’t see any major stuff although we can HEAR the big fireworks they have at Great Meadows where they run the Gold Cup Race every year…..they open it up for huge fireworks just outside of town. We just do our “little stuff” at home!
