Strange title for my blog today? Yeah, I suppose it is…………..Well you see my Mom has go to to the dentist today for a check-up/cleaning and she really HATES to go in the first place but today we’re knee-deep in the stormy effects of the tropical storm that’s moving up the East Coast. SO, she’ll be slogging through the WET to get to the dentist for pain. Does that make any sense? She just doesn’t want to reschedule – she wants to get it over with……….she has to drive an hour to get to her dentist. Crazy huh?
Good thing she takes care of her teeth – just like I do…….and just like most of us do! We like to show them, so we keep them lookin’ GOOD!
There is one GOOD thing about the rain………..no – actually make that TWO good things.
1. We desperately need rain here – it’s super duper dry, and
2. We’d rather have rain today than tomorrow on the 4th of July because it would ruin our picnic/fireworks plans!
We’ve gotta try this new picnic table out……!
AND we’ve just gotta have fireworks on the 4th!
The latest weather forecast says rain/isolated storms tonight and through tomorrow but ending with one final screech on Friday morning before it clears out and moves on up the East Coast………….while I wouldn’t wish a bad storm on ANYONE, I must say I hope they’re right and we just get the rain we need – I wish that for everyone………..
This is one time I won’t mind if my front yard looks like this on Friday………………if it leaves room in the neighbors yard for our two-family cookout and in our yard for the fireworks and possible croquet match AFTER the cookout – I’ll be a very happy boy and do I need to tell you how my parents will feel????? After all, Mom’s spending several hours this afternoon after the dentist thingie making about 400 lbs. of potato salad for the cookout…….oh alright – maybe not QUITE that much but a lot.
Now on a SERIOUS note…………………today is my buddy and pal Raz’s Dad’s heart cath procedure and I mentioned it yesterday asking for purrs and prayers and today is THE DAY, so please keep those purrs coming………Please? Thanks!

Hi Fozziemum! My Mom says she’ll try to be brave at the dentist (ha)…..and the rain appears to be holding off for her (for now)……and she’ll be happy to be HOME making tater salad vs. being on the roads around here if it DOES rain!!! Raz’s Dad’s procedure is this morning and we’re hoping by the time Mom gets home she’ll know something from Raz’s Mom. Waiting is so awful!

That’s true – she always says her teeth feel brand new after a cleaning…..it’s just the CLEANING she hates – sensitive teeth! Rain looks like it might wait until this afternoon which Mom would appreciate – the roads around Washington, DC are always clogged but when it rains they are NOT MOVING AT ALL!!! The one hour trip could be three hours…..we don’t want that!!

Basil your typist is brave – my Mom’s a wienie (hahaha). She HATES the whole experience of tooth cleaning – she’s got super sensitive teeth so they have to spray that deadening stuff on her about a dozen times during the cleaning. HAHAHAHA. We’re hoping for decent weather tomorrow – – – picnics and fireworks in the rain just don’t work!

I saw the title and for a moment I thought it was YOU who had to go to the dentist, Sammy! Lucky that it is NOT you! My human does not mind the dentist so much – she flosses and brushes for a ridiculously long amount of time and the dentist is generally happy with her teeth. And when her teeth are healthy, the rest of her is usually doing well too!

Hi Sparkle! My Mom has always had toofie problems although she takes super good care of them…..hereditary issues (whatever that is). Anyway, thankfully my teef are strong and at age 14 I’ve NEVER had to have a toofie cleaning – my vet says he’s amazed (and I’m grateful….!) 😉

Thanks Easy! My Mom says the weather looks like the rain won’t get here now until she’s on her way home from the PAIN GUY (dentist) or even later this afternoon when she’s home. We don’t think that the storm will bother us as much as it will down in North Carolina on the ocean…….this is one time we’re glad we’re NOT “at the beach” !!!!

Astrid’s toothy post yesterday would have fit right in with this. Kitty with tooth brush is so cute. Wish we would get some of the rain. It is so humid here efurryday (and hot), but no rain. We had thunder yesterday with no rain and it looked like the same today BUT an hour ago the sky opened up and we’ve had HEAVY rain since! Looked from Doppler like you got some too!
