Oh my friends – I had the most glorious, sun-filled weekend after my whine-fest over all the rain last week and I’m still feeling HIGH AS A KITE because today is going to be sunny too. Three whole days of the nicest sunny days ever. Coolish, sunny, breezy – just about as good as it gets.

OR if I’m in the back yard I get the sun OR shade!
That’s exciting because you may know that Washington, DC and the ‘burbs get ridiculously humid in the summertime. “Can’t catch my breath” kind of humid. Maybe not as humid as the jungle but pretty danged close! Those are the days that I stay inside in the AC. Out here in the “country” away from the big city is where in the old days all the gentrified folk from Washington, DC would hop in their carriages and head to for a breath of fresh air and some relief from the humidity of town. That’s right – they’d ride out HERE to escape. Well the people in DC still ride out this way and further up to the mountains to escape but it’s not just from the heat – it’s from the BIG CITY PERIOD!!! We’re on a main route up to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the gorgeous Shenandoah Valley so when things heat up in town, everyone heads out here.

I don’t have to escape……….nope – all I have to do is stay right where I am – living the good life with Mom and Dad………..if it’s too humid I stay inside……if it’s nice enough to be outside I just go a few steps and I’m there – no car trip to the country for me………………….I’M ALREADY THERE!!!!!
I can be INSIDE in the A/C and still enjoy the sun in the library!
Have a sun-filled Monday (or if you need rain, may you get WET today). AND – whatever you do – don’t forget tomorrow is Tuesday Teaser and we have another GUEST TEASER for you!!!! Another toughie? Probably! So make sure and be ready at 6AM EST to guess – who knows – you might be FIRST RIGHT GUESSER!

Hi Dezi!!! I didn’t know you also got super humid weather there but I guess we all have to put up with a bit of “STICKY” when we have the heat of summertime. We’ll just STAY COOL inside right?? The mountains are always at least ten degrees cooler than here where I am so that’s why everyone heads up there in the summer. Mom and Dad have woods in the backyard and it’s also cooler in there so they put a bench down in the woods and we all go there sometimes too! So this week we’ll be able to visit on Scouts again – isn’t that exciting? See you there (and here!!!!!!)

Yep Sammy da humidity levels here are unbelievable in da summer. That’s purretty cool that is cooler in the mountains and woods. Wees hav woods behind our house too but they’s not cooler or safe. MOL So many bugs and critters. MOmmy won’t go out there, much less let us be there. MOL enjoy and stay coool. See yous here and at Cat Scouts. 😀

Hi Dezi! I can only go out with my Mom and we don’t get any critters until nightfall – that’s when the skunks, groundhogs, deer, and possums come out. But bugs – yep we do get bugs and we have to be careful about that….don’t want ticks!!!!

I can understand why you don’t like the humidity. Your ancestors probably came from the area between Egypt and Turkey, not exactly known for it’s humid weather.

YES – my Mom lived in Clearwater for 7 years back in the 70s and moved back to Virginia for the AIR (hahahahaha). It’s still humid and hot here but not quite the same……….

Ol’ Peepers here has been in DC a few times. She says she was always there in mid to late May and even then, it was hot. Can’t imagine what it would be like in July. MOUSES!

Hey Sammy, those sun puddles sound very good and look even better. Your backyard is like a park and I would love to visit one day but alas you are way too far from me. I wouldn’t make it to the next town without a melt down. Enjoy your time in the sun with your mom or sometimes its even better alone….you can see more stuff that way. Here in Calgary, we usually only needs AC a few days a summer. The elevation is high, and even in the summer it gets cool at night. Midway, that is a total other story.

Sammy, we know you are so happy that your humans did not move from the country you love to that condo. The last few days have been pawsomely gorgeous here as well.
