Lazy Friday

Standard

Why lazy Friday?  Well because I’m planning on being a lazy bum today……………..that is after the monster stuff is done with of course.  The noise machine will work its’ way through the house slowly but surely – dust bunnies will be removed and/or pushed around and THEN and only THEN will I be able to move into “bumhood “……………. snoresville …………… naptown ………….. snoozylvania !!

Sam Sleeping (again)

My whole sleep routine has changed through…………..you will remember that I had a couple of years of enjoying afghan tents up in my Mom’s studio – every day when she was painting/drawing/writing I’d camp out under the afghan and sleep while she worked.  Well, I am no longer a big fan of the afghan tent.   No particular reason – I just like to keep my parents on their toes and make them wonder what’s going on in my ginger covered head.   Part of that is changing up my routine – nothing worse than being PREDICTIBLE!   So now I sleep other spots………….and my Mom never knows WHERE she’ll find me (unless I’m on her lap of course).

Also Mom asked me to thank those of you who have recently ordered her mystery novel from Amazon either the Kindle version or the paper version because she’s had notice of some sales and it HAD to be you!!!   Anyone who has yet to read her mystery novel, “The Mystery of David’s Bridge” – well you’re missing out on a treat.  Even though I’m her “kid” and am bound to brag on her, I must say that complete strangers STILL write to her to say how much they like it – so if you’re one of the few who hasn’t read it yet – just click on one of the links on my sidebar.  Give yourself a treat.  You deserve it.

Yes that's my Mom's own painting on the cover!

Yes that’s my Mom’s own painting on the cover!

Speaking of books, you all know Bailey the Boat Cat who is now living full-time on his boat “Nocturne” with his parents in lovely Italy????   Well his book “Bailey the Boat Cat” was launched yesterday and he’s so excited he can barely stand it.  Mom says she remembers when her first book was launched and it is indeed an exciting time – BUT, now that his book is available, you should consider getting it because it’s BOUND to be a fabulous read.  The adventures of a cat who lives “THE LIFE” on a beautiful sailboat????   Oh yeah….you betcha – it’s going to be a big hit.

Hope whatever ELSE you have to do on your Friday, you manage to include some “LAZY” in your schedule…………….it’s what we cats do best!!!  Why change???   It works for us right gang??

    • My Mom never learned to crochet or knit………we have three afghans all made by Mom’s sister-in-law!! My Mom knitted something once – I say “something” because it was just one long, ten inch wide and 10 feet long THING. That was the only time she ever knitted something. Whatever it was. HAHA

          • There’s something about either the yarn or the snuggliness or SOMETHING that really attracts cats! Sam just loves the afghans that we have – even though he no longer wants me to make a “tent” for him, he still likes “making biscuits” on them and napping on them. Good luck with yours – it’s a BEAUTY!

          • Thanks Pam….it’s the snuggly I think..funny the girls have baskets in my sewing room..they had no interest in them..lined and soft and lovely..nup ..the moment I put a basket with wool in it down..well I feel kind of like the grannie in The Stand…surrounded by weasels in the corn while getting the chickens 😉 hahahahaha Hugs Bev xx

    • Hi Cupcake! That’s right – RESTFUL is probably my middle name although Mom insists I don’t have a middle name. If that’s so, why does she often say “Sammy, No” ??? Sounds like a middle name to me! I’m glad your Mom liked my Mom’s book Cupcake…..I bet you read all your Mom’s books too don’t you?

  5. Lazy days sounds perfect to me. I have a couple of places I tend to sleep right now. One is my toddler bed in my bedroom – I actually put myself down for a nap during the day when mommy is at the worky place. The other place is the sofa. Have a fabulous weekend my cousin. I will tell mommy about your book – I think she is actually going to the book store this weekend to look for Bailey’s book as well 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

  11. Mom always says that cats are predictably unpredictable. You seem to be living up to that. We are so excited about our Brofur Bailey’s book. We can’t wait to get our copy. Have a lovely lazy weekend. It was pawsomely awful here today with very loud thunder storms. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giuiletta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  12. Sammy, You are a super-handsome sleeper, what with that paw curled across your sweet little face–oh wait–no! That was the HUMAN, Sammy. Dude, I would never talk about your “sweet little face”! You are a mighty ManCat. Not that you are not debonair and handsome, of course.

    • Thanks Spitty – we have to maintain our dignity in the face of adversity like hearing “sweet face”, “floofy beautiful tummy” and other things like that – right? We are secure in our manliness so I suppose we should be able to handle the occasional SLIP into “cuteness” !!!

  14. Your mom is so sneaky with that flashy thing…HA, aren’t you surprised she found you napping in so many cozy spots? I tried to build Petals and Blossum a little tent one morning because you always look so cute in your tents. Petals kept knocking it down. She’d try to step on the roof instead of coming in from the front…..she’s so silly. xoK

    • She wanted to lie ON whatever fabric you used for the tent instead of UNDER it. I did that with my afghan tents for a while until I really “got” how cool it was to be in a little cave!!
