Talk About Wet!

Gosh – it’s monsoon season (not Spring but monsoon!) here on top of my hill in Warrenton.   I’m thinking about past postings about so much rain…………remember these?

We’ve had driving, pouring, heavy rain for two days so things are soggy (moldy?) here yet again……….but maybe this is a sign that Spring is truly coming because it’s not snow – it’s rain…..and this week is supposed to be a nice week with temperatures – higher than normal….that means maybe the sixties!   There’s hope!

We had a weekend full of paperwork, realtors, phone calls, a stranger or two, and making boxes…….Dad got boxes from the store and they have to be taped up like Fort Knox to make them safe for transporting STUFF – and believe me – my parents have had 18 years in this house and some years BEFORE that, to gather lots of STUFF.

The highlight of my week will be tomorrow though with the good old reliable Tuesday Teaser.  Will you be ready?  Will you?   You’d better make up your mind because it will be here in less than 24 hours!!

Try to have a rain-free or at least pain-free Monday………..that’s my plan…………..

  1. Sorry to hear you’re floating away. We generally start getting a lot of rain in June. I hope you get some sunshine and can be out on your green grass soon. I really miss grass in the winter. They should make an indoor park for people or cats like us 😀 it always feels good on the toesies xoxo K

  2. 18 years – oh goodness, there will be a terrifying amount of STUFF! We cleared a barn out of ‘stuff’ we moved from our last house and hadn’t used in five years – filled a big skip 😀

  8. Oh cousin – I just absolutely LOVE that picture of you as a catfish. SO hilarious! I just looked around the Hotel Thompson. I can just imagine them moving after all the time they have been here. Mom keeps threatening to declutter – snorts – as if that is going to happen. Just stay in hiding my friend until the move. XOXO – Bacon

  9. We had lots of rain but the wind was the worst. We almost blew away it was so bad. Maybe March is going out like a lion, and maybe it will take all the bad weather with it. Don’t forget that GG’s birthday is at Cat Scouts today. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giuliettta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  10. Sammy you feel free to send that rain our way! We are having sunshine finally but are lacking the rains that we usually have now. Boxes! How fun! Your poor mom 18yrs of STUFF. Grammy has that. Mom keeps getting rid of stuff because she doesn’t want to have to do that! But the books….Sigh…mom says she understands about the books 🙂 Hope you all have a great Monday!

    • Our day shaped up nicely here too Miss Caren and Cody! They think we’ll have more rain this week – maybe even off and on the REST of the week except for tomorrow. I’m gonna stay positive (and get my snorkel ready!).

  12. Sammy this weather is really throwing us all over the place isn’t it?! Enough already! Hope tomorrow is a wonderfully rain-free day. Your parents have a lot of years in that home, must be so much work to get it all boxed up!

  13. Cat-fish! GAH! That would be something! Our 2 days of rain turned into a sunny, beautiful day. Mom took me to the park, but she said the word, “no mud.” What a buzzkill. Stay dry, buddy.

  14. Mother Nature seems to be out of control. You have too much rain and we aren’t getting enough. We have very dry and windy conditions here now, not at all good for grass fires. And they spread very quickly. Mom is afraid to use our new grill because of the strong winds and the dry yards. We need to get Mother Nature to find a better balance.

    • Hi CK……my Mom and Dad have tons of old records and will hang onto them – the stuff from their misspent youth in the 60s, 70s, and 80s (tee hee). My Mom has her Dad’s SUPER old records with all the SUPER oldies from the 40s etc. They thought about getting rid of those but just can’t.
