WOW…….I did it!

I gotcha…..nobody guessed the

WHOLE Teaser…..

That’s right – some of you had the right this or the right that but nobody guessed what the building was OR what town it was in – lots of you did guess the country it was in though…………..here’s the photos again before I “spill” the info on the photographs!

This gorgeous place has changed over the years since my Grandpa took these photos…..but NOT all that much!  It was THEN the Castle Friedrichshof in Kronberg (near Frankfurt), Germany.  It was built by German Empress Victoria, Crown Princess and daughter of Queen Victoria in honor of her husband the Crown Prince of Prussia.  These days it is a hotel – the Schlosshotel Kronberg !!   The photos Mom saw of it on Wikipedia shows it to look much the same from this view although a LOT of work has been done to the inside obviously to make it a hotel.  Cool huh?

SO – nobody guessed it correctly but many of you got PART of it right so in honor of the fact this OFTEN happens, I’ve created a BRAND NEW AWARD……………for those who ALMOST guess it every week!

May I Present The “Almost Award”

So from now on, there will still be the “FIRST RIGHT GUESSER” award for the first to say town/city and country/state BOTH……..and those who guess the right town/city and country/state AFTER the “FIRST RIGHT GUESSER” will get the Hug award which you all know and love – and those who don’t get a dingy danged thing right get the “I WAS WRONG BUT SAMMY LOVES ME ANYWAY” award!   How’s that????

I can’t believe we stumped everyone……it was a dog fight (literally) this week with Easy and Doggy (or at least we THOUGHT it would be) but instead neither of them knew.  Don’t worry everyone – there’s always NEXT week!

    • If I could send you some snow I would….so far we don’t have any here but elsewhere it’s doing a good job of making an appearance!!!! Glad you like the new “I almost got it” award…..sometimes people know the country but not the city so this way they get SOMETHING for the effort anyway!

          • I agree Sammy.. I just took Doc and Fozzie out for their before bed tinkles and it’s 5c …5….we had a huge hail storm today and yet the other day roasting..it’s making people and pets sick all over I am sure..we seem to have no spring or autumn it’s either cold or hot.. Strange indeed my friend..you have a great day I must get to bed I am going with some ladies tomorrow to get an recognition certificate for donations to the community from our Country womens association branch..so I must look sharp..or at least half awake 😉 hugs and loves to you my gingerbread man xxx

          • Thanks Sammy had a great snooze and woke up and the house is freezing..had to move the xmas tree to get the heater on..i refuse to go gather wood for a fire in Summer!!! hehe and I look forward to my first official role today representing this wonderful Association..so much hard work is done..our Royal Melbourne Show which is held in the city each year and is an agricultural show the ladies baked something like 20,000 scones through the ten day event!! raising lots of money..the whole of our state had ladies go and help..wonderful gals they are 🙂 HUgs Fozziemum xx

          • Uhoh……you’re supposed to be WARM there! Well, whatever it takes to be comfy no matter WHAT time of the year it is right? Congratulations on your position with the Association – you’re a champion scone maker so if they do that again this year I bet you’ll be sconing up a storm again!

          • Brrrrrr thanks Sammy..we were each given a certificate today for volunteering as it was volunteers day yesterday…the old market place (which now houses art) was full at least 200 people..Fire fighters,land care,Parks and wildlife,Assistance dogs (a beautiful big poodle) ,RSPCA (your aspca) and so many more..and us CWA ladies….morning tea looked yum but I was too busy chatting..and for once it was a morning tea we didn’t have to bake hahaha 🙂 Hugs Fozziemum xx

    • Well Doggy my buddy, my pal, technically I suppose by sending that link to a page full of every possible town/country/city/state in the universe you DID guess correctly…..BUTTTTTT…….what a sneaky way to do it. I’m afraid I have to impose a penalty for “overzealous guessing” when you posted that link. Yep – ‘fraid so. But I think the world of Teaser Fans is hoping that you and Easy can “fight it out” next week – and who knows what I’ll come up with in the way of photos for THAT!!

  8. We’re not surprised we didn’t get it, Sammy, but we are surprised that some of those cyber sleuths out there didn’t! We’re relieved we didn’t live in that castle – we would have gotten lost trying to find our way to the doggie door! Lots of love from Simone the collie and Eddie & Lucy the JRs.

  14. Looking good last Christmas, Sammy. You sure got loads of presents. Your stocking is so adorable. Can you imagine, we have 10 stockings hung on our mantel? Are you going to send a photo to Speedy for his blog and contest? We hope to, eventually. Cannot believe that no- buddy got the Teaser this week. How often have you stumped efurrybuddy?     • Hi Kitties Blue! I sent a couple of photos to Speedy yesterday so keep an eye peeled……our mantle probably couldn’t even HOLD ten stockings but that’s a lot of goodies for Santa to put in stockings and stuff under a tree!! As for the Teaser, I think this is the FIRST time NOBODY got the Teaser……..pretty cool huh?? Maybe I should have an award!

  15. hahahah yes. That was THE TEASER. But it was a great one. I always read a little about the teaser places and this one has really a great history. So we can learn something every tuesday too, isn’t that great? btw: the three caterwaulers are just randomly placed or aren’t they? hehehehe

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the Teaser and I like learning new stuff about places too………my parents have been lucky enough to travel and my Mom traveled before she even knew my Dad so there’s a lot of photos around here to choose from. I’ll try to find another STUMPER for next week so you’d better be ready!!

        • Hi Easy….yes! I read that too about the stolen crown jewels – pretty cool huh? Makes this a most interesting castle/hotel……sure would be fun to hang out there for a while and explore the place – purrhaps I could have a slumber pawty there like I had last year….remember that? We could all have royal rooms and pretend to be royalty for a day. King Easy…..Prince Sammy……I can see it all now!!!!

          • I think you’re right on that Easy – that joint does NOT look like it comes cheap! But there’s bound to be some secret passageways in that place that wouldn’t cost us a penny!

  26. Yow Sammy me sneeked on here to read yer bloggie…doze pix iz pawsum n me z close to *swoonin* butt if me doez den me not bee able to type….
    Mum missed da Tuesday Reezer ’cause me had a Bowel reelapse n me had to rush to da Vet’z. Mum still not reecovered frum da bizit dere.
    Last nite o Chanukkah here..it went too fast 😦

    • Oh wow! Well, the photos made it tough even if you’d heard of it because I guess they were probably from the 40s – the entire album my Mom has that belonged to her Dad has OLD stuff in it. We’ve used some of the photos before on Teasers but this was truly a challenge!!

  30. Thanks for sharing all your Christmas photo’s from last year Sammy. I really enjoyed them all. Mum does such a fab job with the whole house, no wonder Santa was so generous. I especially loved your little green neck scarf, it matched your green eyes 😀 You are just the cutest Christmas kitty. PS, Pam your tree is gorgeous to the max xK

    • Thanks Miss Boomdee!!!!(that’s from Sammy) and thanks from ME too Boomdee (from Pam)……..that’s a GREAT tree – got it at Home Depot after Christmas two years ago when it was on sale. I particularly LOVE that it’s pre-lit and now I can just concentrate on putting favorite ornaments on it instead of untangling strings of ungainly lights! HAHAHA Hope you’re ready for the holidays!
