We meant to mention Phinny’s situation on my blog for today after reading about him at Savannah’s this weekend – but now that we’ve read Easy’s blog, we could NEVER have said it better….so we’re reblogging! If you can help find Phinny a home, please do. He looks like a sweetie!

Easy Blog

On thursday I read about Phinny at Savannah’s blog. Phinny’s  story touched my heart as Savannah wrote her first post about him.
Phinny’s story, is a sad story,  what probably had ended sad too , but fortunately there were helping hands.

People of Contra Costa Humane Society  rescued Phineas, the Pittie mix,  from a kill shelter. They collected donations for his surgery, because
he  has been hit in his face with a bat or a similar instrument. Sorry, that I can’t  write about the details, but my tears are running while I
write this post, but you can klick on the links above to read what happened to Phineas, aka Phinny.

To make a long  story short, many people had a heart for Phinny, they donated money and they lined up to be put on
the list for adopting Phinny after his surgery.

Turkey Countdown

Good Morning Friends!   Well, today is day one of Turkey Countdown for me and my Mom and Dad.  Yep – even though they are deserting me on Thursday to go up to the mountains and have turkey and the fixins’ at my Uncle Bruce and Aunt Joan’s cabin, I’m excited – why?  Well, because they will be bringing home some turkey for ME!   I’m not big on birds (I like to watch them but rarely eat anything in the bird family) BUT for some reason, Mom has discovered that I can nibble an inch or two of turkey.  SO – I’ll be patient and wait for the end of the week when they bring be some.

Meanwhile we have OTHER things going on like tomorrow’s Tuesday Teaser!   It’s a GUEST TEASER this week.  Let’s just see how well you do with this one………I had lots of Sammy Hug winners last week with my Mom’s painting – wondering how many there will be this week.

Here’s my other news…….you will remember my fabulous Cat Scouts Derby race car that my Mom and Dad built for me?  Well, we won an Honorable Mention in the race!   Mention was made of me not actually driving my car which of course refers to the fact that the photo of me IN the car was actually my Mom FORCING ME to stay in the car long enough for Dad to take a photo.  HAHAHA    In my defense, I am not a guy who is easily forced to do anything – I like doing things on my own terms – so for me to even have let Mom hold me inside the car for that photo – well – it was MAJOR!!   All the other drivers were in their cars as the rules said – AND the cars everyone did were incredibly creative and super – some of the entries were done on video with music too and they were fabulous.  Hey – Honorable Mention isn’t bad right???

Well I was IN the car anyway!!! HAHA

Well I was IN the car anyway!!! HAHA

The BIGGER news though is that my troop the Worldwide Wildcats had more cars entered in the derby than any other troop in the Scouts and the Wildcats were BIG winners overall including a Troop Award !!

One of my friends wrote to me and said they were glad to see that I still love having tissue paper on the floor to play with – well I do – it’s nice and crinkly and noisy and I love hiding my toys under it.  Mom still gives me fresh tissue paper when she cleans the house every Friday.  HAHAHA

Lovin' my tissue!

Lovin’ my tissue!

So I’ll see you tomorrow for the BIG TEASE………….remember it gets posted at 6:00 Eastern Standard Time – later than my usual blog posts.  Hope to see you here in the morning and have a fab Monday!

Happy Turkey Countdown Day ONE

Sammy !

Thank you Miss Cat for my new sweet badge!!!

The Baconboy

YEP – that’s me – Mr. Bacon…the Baconboy

Sammy…..king of Bacon

Happy Saturday to all of you who tuned in this morning to see me report on the status of bacon on my Baconday…..well, I’m happy to report you will not be disappointed because we did in fact have bacon on the menu at the Kimmell house this morning.  But that’s not ALL the big news ’round here today.

Yesterday I got word that I passed my Bobcat test on Cat Scouts!   All I have to do is go through the super secret initiation ceremony TODAY (keep your paws crossed for me will you??) then it will be official….I will be:

We’ll have to take the Cat Scouts oath and not sure what else will happen but I am happy that I could prove myself worthy of advancing within the Cat Scouts – it’s so much fun…..and if you think you can talk your human into helping you there, PURRRLEASE join us!  And if you DO join, and you wanna be a member of the BEST Troop around – you can join MY troop called Worldwide Wildcats.

Now, for something different from the usual stuff I talk about, have I told you lately about my good friend Cat Forsley?  She’s an amazing Canadian singer/songwriter/artist/performer who has a band called “As The City Rumbles Underneath”  and they really make great music!  Please visit her blog and make sure and check out all her songs and videos – they will get your foot tapping and your heart thumping.   She’s not only very talented, she’s also gorgeous!  I just love her – she calls me “Sammytoes” which makes me smile – I think she’s in love with my extra toesies!!!!

Kisses for Miss Cat !!!

Our good friend Oscar from My Three Moggies is making an AMAZING recovery from his catfight incident – he’s out of his “enforced isolation” at home and is back on the bed with his brothers relaxing and getting much needed rest to continue his recovery.  BUT already, his wound is looking like it’s healing super fast and he’s getting his furs back!  WOO HOO!

Just one more thing and it’s really from me AND my Mom.  Bunches of you have bought my Mom’s mystery novel “The Mystery of David’s Bridge” on your Kindle!  Several of you have written to tell Mom you loved the book – that makes her smile REAL BIG.  If you would like to do a review of the book for Amazon, please do.  We love reviews (especially if they are good ones!).  Remember the book is available in paperback too – just click the links I have on the left side of this page – for Kindle or paperback………….and THANK YOU AND BIG SPECIAL HUGS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE THE BOOK ALREADY!

Mom's mystery novel: available on Amazon as a Kindle download OR a paperback book

And yes – that is one of my Mom’s oil paintings on the cover…..!

Inside and Outside Monster Day

Hi Peeps!!   Yes I know today is Friday (duh)…….and so does my Mom.   No mistaking what day it is around here because THE MONSTER is already out of the closet and ready to do the cleaning thing here in the house.  But not only THAT, Dad has the OTHER MONSTER out of the garage – the leaf machine – so it’s an inside and outside cleaning day today.

What’s that mean for me??

Yep – otherwise the noise will get to me eventually.  My Dad is hoping this is ALMOST the last time he’ll have to do the outside monsterizing though (Mom too since she drives the lawn tractor that pulls the monster around the yard).  I just want some PEACE AND QUIET!

Sam relaxing after the visit to the vet yesterday!

Stop the Noise!!!!

I think today MIGHT be the day I find out if I flunked or passed the test to become a Bobcat on Cat Scouts…….am I nervous?  Maybe.  I am a troop leader you know, and I want to set a good example….what kind of troop leader can’t pass an advancement test???  I studied – honest I did.  Keep your paws crossed for me will you?   The Cat Scouts logo says “BE PURRRPARED” and I was purrrpared to take the test……

Mom asked me to thank all of you who made such nice comments about her lighthouse painting.  Wanna see some more of her lighthouse paintings????  Well of course you do!  (haha)

Well gang, I’m off – time to buckle down and prepare for the onslaught of the monsters…………………I hope you have no monsters awaiting you on YOUR Friday morning like I do!
