Rain Dances Work!

Standard

Dear Friends – THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your offers to help with the rain dance stuff here in Warrenton, Virginia yesterday when I was complaining about how dry it was and how desperate we were for some “wet stuff”.  About 3:30PM I heard the rumble of (dare I say it?) THUNDER…….the sky got a bit dark…….Mom checked Doppler radar on the TV and sure enough – RAIN WAS COMING…..within ten minutes the sky opened up and it rained like mad…….it kept it up too throughout most of the evening.

RAIN!!!!!!!

RAIN!!!!!!!

RAIN!!!!

Everywhere I looked it was WET……puddles, mud…….all the usual stuff and while I haven’t yet been out this morning to get up close and personal, I’m sure I’ll have a puddle or two I can poke and play in (if Mom’s not looking of course) and who knows – maybe my elusive froggy friend I haven’t yet seen this year will be out for a stroll or a swim and I can say hi?????

Freddy my friend - where are you this year? You're "missing in action" !

Freddy my friend – where are you this year? You’re “missing in action” !

SO – thank you my friends for being so helpful……..because it worked.  If you ever need me to do the Rain Dance for you – just let me know OK?

Reminders:

Tomorrow is Speedy’s Pirate Party blog hop (I think it’s a blog hop anyway)……wait until you see MY get-up – Mom helped of course!

Milou, Texas and Kitshka’s brother, has his 14th birthday pawty on the 16th which happens to be the same day that Bacon our piggy friend has HIS birthday pawty so WATCH OUT WORLD – BLOGVILLE IS PAWTYING TO THE MAX!!

Mollie and Alfie are having a logo competition over at their place – yep – they are asking for peeps who want to design a logo to submit their designs and then I think we’ll all get to vote for them!  Pop over and read Alfie’s blog posting about it.  Should be fun.  My Three Moggies have already entered their suggested logo – put your artistic thinking caps on and design a logo!!  Woot!

Happy Friday!

    • Oh I promise to have lotsa pix of my leaves once they begin to turn….they had already started just plain falling off the trees even though they were still green due to the lack of rain. Now maybe we’ll get a pretty fall???

  1. I can’t wait to get outside this morning, Sammy. I can see all the grass is wet, and I plan to get my white furs as wet and dirty as I can. Mom likes when I do that. She will wipe me off with paper towels when we come inside. That’s her favorite activity. Say hi to the frog for me.

    • Hi Cupcake…..well I’m with you – it’s fun to play in the wet grass – I hope you get all wet and slippery and your Mom has to use a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE roll of paper towels to dry you off!! Hee Hee……I looked for my friend Freddy but he wasn’t out there. Nowhere to be seen. I’m thinking he’s moved. Too bad.

      Happy Friday!

  2. Good morning, Sammy. Glad you got rain! Motor Mommy said we got a tiny bit last night – she’s not sure how much. Maybe “40 drops” as the old saying goes.
    Happy Friday the 13th!

    • Hi Sundae! Happy Friday the 13th – I think it will be a LUCKY day – how about you? I know it’s a little wacky around your house right now with strangers everywhere and lots of activity but I think after this weekend it will quiet back down and you’ll get your house back! Yep – that’s what I think – meanwhile should be fun watching out the windows!

  6. Sammy, you are so, so lucky. We were supposed to have rain yesterday, but didn’t get even one drop! It’s in the forecast today, but we are doubtful. Then next week is supposed to be sun, sun, sun, but at least with cooler temps. Hope you do get to go outside today and check out the puddles. We love to drink from puddles! • Hi Texas! Mom sent an email with a card for Milou to your OLD email address – it’s probably floating in cyberspace somewhere. BUT we will be thinking about him for sure on the 16th……AND If you need some rain, I’ll be happy to help you do a special Texas Rain Dance but I don’t have any cowboy boots – think that will mess things up??

    • It was so incredibly DRY here that even the bit of rain we did get last night kind of just soaked right into the ground and now it feels bone dry out there again. We could use a couple of solid rain days but it’s not in the forecast!

    • I’m pretty good with thunder and lightning NOW but when I was little it used to scare me to bits – I’d hide in the basement. Mom says maybe I’m just a TEENY bit hard of hearing these days (which works to my good!!!).

  9. Hi Sammy,
Since you’re so good and successful at doing the rain dance, why don’t you come down here to Texas and do the rain dance for us, too?! We could sure use you as I tried and tried and tried till my feet were raw 😉 but no rain – at least not much.
    Best regards from southern Texas,

    • Gosh Mr. Pit, I’d be happy to do a special rain dance JUST FOR YOU! I think I need to work on my technique just a bit because while we DID get rain, it wasn’t much. Maybe I didn’t dance long enough? Oh well, I’ll try harder next time! I think MUCH of the country is too dry – except for the poor people in Colorado who got WAY WAY too much rain!

      • Hi Sammy,
As I said in a different answer: you did the trick, and we’ve had some rain. Thank you. Or did you, maybe, teach our feline crew the rain dance? Sometime little Sister Fidelma surely IS hopping around like mad. 😉
Best regards, and take good care of yourself,
        Pit

  10. Raindrops keep falling on ‘your cute orange head’, but that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red…….I’m off to bed, say good night to Fred….you’ve been wanting it to rain so I won’t be complaining, because you’re cute…nothing’s worrying me (sang to the melody of ‘you know what’).

I think I’m overtired and silly, night night Sammy (and Pammy) xo

    • I know some places on Planet Earth are getting TOO MUCH rain – then others are bone dry. Somehow I think it would be awfully swell if it all just balanced out everywhere – but I suppose the weathermen wouldn’t like that!!

      Kitty Hugs and happy weekend,

  11. Glad you got your rain, Sammy! I think we need a sun dance up here though….we’ve been getting way too much rain lately! We needed some, but it’s been getting carried away this last week.
