Hi All !
Seems like a busy past few days – I’ve needed to nap more than usual but you know how I love my naps right? Any excuse for one – that’s ME alright!
See? Taking things nice and SLOW!
Sometimes I break up the napping ritual to go outside and visit the garden……especially Mom’s buddleia (aka butterfly bush) with the big purple flowers on it. Yesterday afternoon there were TEN of them on the plant – yellow and black swallowtail butterflies and one painted lady. I only know the names of the butterflies because of my little neighbor buddies who live next door. They are SO smart about stuff even though they’re only 6 and 8. They know EVERYTHING. Just about.
Here’s one of my official butterfly experts!
Anyway, I sit under the bush and just watch the butterflies – although there was a time when I’d leap up and try to grab one in both paws……and once in a while I DO catch one but I let it go right away….I’m just making sure I don’t lose my touch!!! I guess you could say I practice “catch and release”…..HAHAHAHAHA Mom was too lazy to go out and take a photo of me under the bush yesterday but this is me watching butterflies in my garden a few years back – – can you see me? I’ve shown you this photo before and you have to look pretty darn hard to see me!!!!

Yesterday I screamed on the stairs long and hard until my Dad came down to play with one of my wand toys that just happened to be lying on the stairs (thanks to me dragging it up there) waiting for a human being to pick it up and tease me with it. Mom kept trying to capture me on film so of course I look like I could care LESS about the toy but really I had a fantastic time playing with Dad. It’s a wand with a looooooooooooooong piece of fleece attached to it and it’s great. I love it.
The only other big thing that happened yesterday is Mom made a cheesecake (yes Easy – a CHEESECAKE!). I got to lick the spoon! WOO HOO! Today I’m hoping to have a tiny bit of it for breakfast……a guy can always hope right?

I was thinking the same thing…..we’ve never had any bathroom incidents around here due to my Mom’s cheesecake which is more than we can say for poor Easy and his Staff!

HA! Actually we don’t see roaches ’round here (happily) but I do enjoy munching on a grasshopper from time to time! I should imagine a butterfly salad would be pretty looking as well as yummy! 🙂

Those are some fun looking stairs to play on Sammy! Playing on the stairs with one of those wand toys is the best 🙂 Our butterfly bushes came back with the rain and cool weather a couple of weeks ago but we are back up in the 90’s with no rain and things outside are gasping for water again. Is it Fall yet? I think we went back to July! We are going to be taking it easy today. I hope.

Hi Miss Pix! I’m glad you got your butterfly bushes perked back up thanks to the rain……they do get a bit LIMP with heat and lack of water don’t they (kind of like my Mom does…hahahahahahaha). We had a BIG rain last night for about an hour with thunder and lightning and all that stuff. This morning it’s 73, humid and sunny. Everything got a good drink last night though so my Mom doesn’t have to do the hose dragging thing this morning anyway. Too bad – I would have been HAPPY to snoopervise her!

I can see you! was it the “thursday teaser photo”? I think you have excellent skills – to scream for entertainment is very clever! I hope you will get a piece of this cheesecake, I think it’s not the cake, its my mom. She made a Pineapple-Coco-Whatever on monday and we got the “cheesecake-effect” too.

Uhoh Easy…..your Mom’s secret ingredient (which must be a laxative…hahahaha) should be thrown out ASAP before she decides to bake something AGAIN. I had no bad issues with Mom’s cheesecake – it was delish – the only bad thing about it is she and my Dad practically ate the entire thing before they decided to let me have a tiny piece. Selfish!!!!

Pretty cool huh? Stealth mode is a specialty of the feline world. We can blend in, sneak up on, disappear – like a cloud of fog we are…..makes it SOOO much fun don’t you think??

My human came at me yesterday with one of those wand thingies…but I didn’t appreciate it much (you can read what I had to say about it in my blog). Sometimes the dang humans are clueless.
By the way, watch out for those baby humans- they may be experts, but they love to chase kats!

We just visited your bloggy and indeed – you certainly should have taken a chunk out of you human for disturbing what appeared to be a VERY comfy nap in a VERY comfy spot. They can be so thoughtless sometimes can’t they? On the other hand they DO make rather good treat dispensers!

Sadly our backyard only looked like that for one summer – then the deer moved in and it’s been an “all you can eat salad bar” ever since! HAHAHAHAHA

Hi Spitty! We actually used that photo of me in the garden once a bazillion years ago for a Tuesday Teaser. “Find The Kitty”….or something like that. Only one person saw me HAHAHAHA. Cheesecake should be one of the natural wonders of the world – it’s delightfully sinful stuff.

We have a couple of butterfly bushes. Our neighbor planted them, but they are mostly in our yard now. One of the kitchen windows is the prime spot for watching the butterflies, and Astrid spends lots of time there watching. Hope you had a great day outside. I’m hoping that today there are MORE butterflies showing up on our bush – yesterday’s one lonely butterfly was a bit disappointing to say the least. But ’round here, hope springs eternal….I’ll be out there again WAITING!
