Cooking on Caturday

Happy Caturday everybody!

Cooking – why cooking you might ask? Well we WILL be doing a lot of cooking around here today. We start off as we ALWAYS start our Caturdays off for breakfast and you all know what THAT means………

THEN Mom and Dad are planning on having a BBQ tonight so Mom will be making baked beans all day on the stove AND potato salad…..which of course cats don’t eat! But when Mom and Dad have their “cookout” I’ll be with them on the back deck………or maybe even in the back yard keeping an eye on things (or as I like to call it SNOOPERVISING)!

      Oh good! I hope your grass sprouts turn into pretty green lawn…..I bet you had beautiful lawns before – you’re in a very different atmosphere now but still, you have so many beautiful DIFFERENT things to see where you are now. Lawns just have to be cut after all…..!!

My parents loved their spareribs, etc. last night and I got to lie on the deck with them while they ate……….actually I went out there when Dad was doing the ribs on the grill so I just STAYED out when Mom brought the other stuff out for their dinner. She even brought me a plate of tuna so I could eat with them!!! Today is cloudy and we’re supposed to have more rain. In fact rain ALL WEEK. We’re all going to be moss covered by Friday! Well, actually, a few years ago Dad decided it was safer to have the grill OFF the deck….he made a little tiny brick patio just the size of the grill down in the yard just a step or two away from the stairs on the deck. Very handy. Probably a lot safer too. We’re just having ribs but Dad’s in charge of the cooking OUTSIDE while Mom’s doing all the “trimmings” inside. The sun’s been out all day so I guess they’ll eat outside which means I’ll be in the yard under a tree staying COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

Thanks for the nice comments about my yard…….My parents planted a lot of trees which means we had to sacrifice a lot of the grassy parts BUT I like all the shade and it keeps the house cooler too.   The cookout was a big success…..the rain held off……Dad didn’t burn the ribs……….Mom and Dad ate at the table on the deck and I slept in the shade UNDER the umbrella and Mom gave me a dish of tuna ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL to myself. It was a grand evening. My snoopervising made it purrrrfect! Tee Hee

  Well Gizmo, the BBQ was great for my parents but when I got to taste-test the BBQ I politely declined! It was a bit strange tasting from the BBQ sauce…….SO, Mom opened up a tin of tuna JUST FOR ME and while they did the ribs, I did the tuna…..it was a WIN/WIN!
