Auction Time!

Standard

Hi Everyone!  So today is finally the day of the big auction for Leo on Mollie’s blog.  I do hope you’ll stop by and maybe bid on something – remember that all proceeds are going to benefit Savannah’s friend Leo who is piling up a lot of medical bills to treat his Hepatic Lipidosis Syndrome.I’m going over as soon as my Mom gets up this morning – after all, she’s the one with the money – I do have a little change in my kitty bank but Mom’s got that paper stuff along with some plastic stuff so she’s got me beat!  If you click on Leo’s picture below, you can go directly to Mollie’s!

Leo would thank you if he could !!

Yesterday we had a super lazy day around here………..it was raining off and on and when it’s like that – there’s not a whole lot we can do to keep ourselves entertained.  I was napping a lot (no surprise there huh???).

Sam Under Afghan on Couch

Huh? Did somebody call me???

Mom did exciting stuff like laundry – Dad did exciting stuff like – well – er – um – NOTHING.  So you see what I mean?  It was a lazy day.

One thing I DID decide to do this week on my blog though was tell you a little bit about my Mom’s book which is recently republished on Kindle.  Why?  Well, you couldn’t possibly know unless I told you but there’s a CAT in the story.  Yep – his name in the book  is Eddy and Mom named the cat after her “before me” cat named Eddy.  The Eddy in the book belongs to the main character Bailey Ferrol who is a private investigator in a small Virginia town called David’s Bridge  (which ACTUALLY is my small Virginia town but Mom changed the name to protect the innocent….HAHAHAHA).   Mom has some photos of HER Eddy and when she describes the Eddy in the book, he’s who she’s describing.

Eddy 001

These are old photos – almost 20 years old in fact – but Eddy was a way cool cat.  He “found” my Mom in the old neighborhood where they lived.  Neighbors said he was just a “neighborhood” cat – his family had just moved one day and left him behind and he’d been on his own for a year until one day he wandered into my Mom’s yard and THAT was THAT!   He decided that would be his new home and that was fine with my Mom and Dad.

So anyway, back to what I was saying – one day this week I’ll tell you all a little bit about Mom’s book.  It’s a mystery and there’s all kinds of quirky characters and lots of action and of course A CAT !   There’s a link over on the side of this page that takes you to Kindle where you can get the book FOR CHEAP (did I say CHEAP?  Well, I mean CHEAP!).

Speaking of pets (were we speaking of pets???)….so far no sign of my friend Freddy the frog so I’ve sort of decided that he moved out of my neighborhood.  Probably hopped down to the pond two houses down from mine.  I can hear the bullfrogs making their sounds down there in the morning and for all I know, Freddy decided life under my front porch just wasn’t exciting enough for him!

So long Freddy! Have fun in the pond!

So long Freddy! Have fun in the pond!

Tomorrow is Tuesday Teaser you know and we won’t be having a Guest Teaser this time around.  Miss Michelle from My Three Moggies is home safe and sound from her trip to China and Japan where she taped two awesome Teaser Tell All videos for us which I think you enjoyed as much as I did!   Tomorrow will be photos from one of my Mom and Dad’s vacations so be prepared…………

Now go visit Mollie’s auction now before you forget it – OK?   See you there!

Happy Monday………….Kitty Hugs, Sammy 😀 😀

  2. Hey Sammy! Sometimes lazy days are just what’s needed and really relaxing! Eddy looks like a lovely cat and I love how the main character in your mums book is called Bailey! (Even if it is a girl! Hehe!) I hope freddy comes back soon!

    • Hi Bailey! I wondered if you’d pick up on that name!! Tee Hee…….Eddy was a sweet cat my Mom says and very special (not as special as I am of course….). Freddy probably decided to move down to the pond and I can’t say that I blame him. Instead of finding puddles to play in, he’s got a WHOLE pond now!

  6. Well Sam your Mom’s book is a delight and I have been shopping at the auction 😀 I have been having a terrible time with WordPress! They will not let me stay signed in for comments or my blog. Frustrating!!!

    • There are a few little quirky things with WordPress and some of the other blog services too – I had a terrible time a few months ago – had to keep signing in like you are now but after a while it just fixed itself. Weird isn’t it! I saw you were having fun shopping at Mollie’s auction!! I need to go check in and see how things are going. A couple of the things I donated had bids on them!!! YAY!

    • Hi Lee and Phod! The auction is going quite well over at Mollie’s! Lots of way cool (and rather interesting!) stuff on the auction block. I’m having a nappy kind of day – it’s chilly and rainy – perfect for that!

    • HAR HAR HAR! Actually some of the animals who attended my slumber party recently said they thought Freddy was on the menu. THAT may explain why he’s missing!

  7. When our mom first started Pam’s book, she was wondering if it would have a kitty in it and didn’t have to read too far to meet Eddy. Every good mystery should have a cat. It was nice of you Sammy to introduce us to the original Eddy. Today’s looking like another overcast and rainy, nappy day. Enjoy. • Eddy is special to the main character in Mom’s book just like he was to my Mom! I’m not even a little bit jealous either because I was happy that my Mom had Eddy to keep her company (he arrived on Mom’s doorstep the day after her Dad passed away!!). It’s icky here today too – not raining but totally overcast. I think naps are in my immediate future!

    • Hi Nissy……now that it’s been warmer off and on we can hear the bullfrogs down on the pond two houses away and they are LOUD….I’m wondering if Freddy decided to give pond life a try. Could be.

  10. Hey Sammy *high paws* We had quite a busy day yesterday, so not much napping done! You can tell your mom that mine has finished the book and she didn’t guess (oh no she didn’t)! She enjoyed it very much 🙂

I had a froggie friend called Phillip once, but I think he got caught up in a gang war or something, with the toads from the pond down the street!! Not seen him either for a long time 😦

    • Oh Austin I’m glad your Mom didn’t figure out the mystery until the VERY end……that’s my Mom’s favorite thing about mysteries. Well, the fact there’s a CAT in this one is also a favorite thing but you know what I mean. As for your frog friend named Phillip? You know, I never thought about whether or not poor Freddy might have been FORCED to go down to the pond with a gang of mean old bullfrogs…YIPES….maybe I should go down and see if he needs “busting out” of the gang down there…..on the other hand, I’m not sure I’d want a gang of frogs coming back up the hill here and taking revenge!

        • I’d like to think of Freddy floating around on a lilypad with his girl, maybe strumming a guitar and singing a song for her – down on the lake……sigh……I keep thinking maybe Freddy, Jr. (the smaller version of Big Freddy) might still be around up here but haven’t seen him either. Double sigh.

  11. Maybe Freddy’s found a girlfriend at the pond down the road. Let’s hope it’s true and lasting love. How exciting, your books out. I don’t have a kindle. Oh dear, does that make me very old school. Sounds like a fabulous book though. I love mysteries and animals and this has both. All so exciting.

    • Hi Susan……I’m working on getting it back into print soon – it was published some years ago but my publisher went out of business so I got my rights back and decided to go with Kindle. I’ve got enough print copies for one more book signing (which I have scheduled!) but when I get it back in print I’ll send you one………..! You can get a “little taste” of the beginning of the book if you follow that link on Sam’s home page – it takes you to the Kindle version BUT you can get a free preview (just click on “LOOK INSIDE” and you can read it on your computer).

      • Oh I’ll definitely be doing that then. I so love your writing and to be able to read something (even if just a little taster) by someone I now know (even if only on a virtual basis so far), would be the most incredible treat.

        • You’re so sweet to say that……….let me know if you can’t see the “look inside” thing on the photo of the book cover – it should be there – you only get a couple of pages but it’s better than NOTHING!!!
