It’s a BIG day………I know there are some of you humans out there who have pets and don’t consider yourself a “Mom” or a “Dad” – you’re caretakers of your pets – but my Mom is much more than a caretaker…..she truly is my Mom (without a meow). I was only a few weeks old when I was pulled out from under a house and taken to the shelter – luckily I was only there a few days when a nice couple of humans came in and saw me in my tiny cage pushing a little plastic ball with a bell inside all around my two foot square “jail cell” ! Those two people became my Mom and Dad that very day. They’re all I’ve known in the way of family and all I remember – after thirteen years of love, they ARE my parents.
Neither my Mom nor my Dad have Moms who are still here…….in fact, they don’t have either their Moms or their Dads any more……..I’m their only “child” too as they never had human children of their own. I guess we just might have a pretty special relationship because of that.
I got my Dad to help me put some photos together of my Mom – not a lot – just a few – so you can see that my Mom ALWAYS has a smile on her face – to me, her smile has always meant “LOVE” …….

Hi Easy! Well I think you gave your Mom a MOST SPECIAL squeaky gift for Mom’s Day during the night. No doubt she was MOST appreciative of it and will give you some special treat today as a THANK YOU! I’m glad you liked the pictures of my smiley Mom and while I never knew my Granny, I think she was pretty too. I hope you have a most special day in your crib – be sure and give your Mom lots of cuddles and hugs and perhaps later you could bring in a gift from outside? Oh Easy GOOD FOR YOU!!!! By June that roadkill should be nice and crispy – I’m sure your Dad will REALLY appreciate that gift!! (perhaps froggy omelettes for Father’s Day breakfast?????) Please check that frog next time you see him though – I hope it wasn’t Freddy (my friend who hasn’t shown up yet at my house) – – – he might have hopped an airplane ride and wound up in your neighborhood!!! Hi Sushi……Yes I am loved that’s for sure – and I know my Dad loves me too. In return I try to make sure they know how I feel about them EVERY SINGLE day and I know you do that for your Mom. I thought the photos of her giving you a nice cool bucket bath were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet – obviously you’re her special girl! Thanks for the Mom’s Day wishes – I’ll pass them on!

The old photos of my Mom are a hoot aren’t they? My Mom said that her Mom told her once that when she was young (like in that old photo of her), people often mistook her for Veronica Lake – isn’t that way cool??? I’m doin’ my best today to be extra-especially good. I’ve been kind of givin’ ol’ peepers a rough time as of late. She’s havin’ to watch me CONSTANTLY whenever I’m out of the crate. Happy Mother’s Day to your human… my human does not have the mom gene and she and her mother did not get along – and unlike most mother-daughter relationships, it only got worse as she grew up! So we don’t celebrate the holiday here.
