So many fascinating places in the world don’t you think? Michelle and her husband do a whole lot of traveling and we think it was WAY FUN when she volunteered to be our Guest Teaser while she’s on her trip.

Hi Easy! My Mom has never been to China either – she lived in Taiwan for two years so was CLOSE to the mainland but never saw it. Miss Michelle was kind enough to offer me a guest teaser or two (or three or four) so I took her up on it – guess what – she’s sent us more for NEXT Tuesday – new places and things so more HARD GUESSWORK!

Your mom lived in Taiwan? Wow I’ll bet it was cool there. Sadly no one was in China, but mom visited HongKong once and it was one of the greatest adventures of her life.

Yep – Mom lived on top of a mountain in Taiwan in a small community of other military families. Right behind their house was a huge rice paddy – they had to keep geese in their fenced yard because the geese kept the snakes that lived in the rice paddies out of the yard! YEEKS! She did get to go to an American school down in the capital city of Taipei. It was quite an adventure but she was a teenager and there was NOTHING for teens to do up on that mountain! There was a small movie theater (50 seats) and a two-lane bowling alley (had to reserve a lane to play MONTHS in advance…hahaha). My Mom’s parents and her brother went to Hong Kong one summer but sadly poor Mom was attending Summer School and couldn’t go with them that year. If she’d had better grades she could have seen Hong Kong instead of the inside of the classroom (!) just like your Mom did!!

Oh my mom had the same experiences, her dad was in the army too and they had to move several times – but not to Taiwan, sometimes to places outside of the civilization and always at the wrong time. But if you can, you should visit HongKong it’s a wonderful city full of life…

My Mom has said she’d love to visit Tokyo one day so she probably could “swing by” Hong Kong if she ever DOES go back to the Far East. I also ought to have her look through old family albums for pix of Taiwan – now THAT might be interesting Teaser material! Tee Hee

I’m sure that would be a great teaser…. Tokio sounds interesting too, we saw pictures a friend made while he was there, it was looking there like a place in the future :o)

It’s SUPER modern from what I hear and see….my parents watch an international TV station that’s in English but all about Japan – their news, special features and stuff like that and it’s ALLLLLLLL super interesting! Who knows – maybe Miss Michelle will go by there before she goes home to England????!!!!!
