Silly Saturday

Standard

Hi Everybody!

I thought maybe we could all use some cheering up – some of us are dealing with horrible snowstorms, some have the icky flu or a super bad cold or WHATEVER, some are just plain tired of Winter…..so for better or worse, I’m gonna try and cheer you up!

"I can't get no respect!"

“I can’t get no respect!”

A lot of you probably don’t remember Rodney Dangerfield – he was a totally hilarious stand-up comedian who was known for his tagline “A don’t get no respect!”……Well my parents got a newsletter the other day that contained some of his more famous “One-Liners”.

  • “I don’t get no respect.  The way my luck is running, if I was a politician, I would be honest.”
  • “A girl phoned me the other day and said, ‘C’mon over, nobody’s home – I went over – nobody was home.”
  • “When I was born, I was so ugly the doctor slapped my mother.”
  • “I don’t get no respect.  I looked up my family tree and three dogs were using it.”
  • “My psychiatrist told me I was crazy, and I said I wanted a second opinion.  He said ‘OK, you’re ugly too!”
OK so they might be corny but I just bet you laughed at at least one of those now didn’t you???  Hmmm?????

Speaking of snow……..we got about an inch……..THAT’S ALL……it happened overnight and I woke up to snow on the ground this morning – which is now practically gone thanks to some moments of sun during the day.  I hope all of you up north of Virginia where we live stay safe, have plenty of heat, food and other supplies to wait out the storm – it sounds pretty awful even if you’re a fan of snow !

Well, if you’ll excuse me I believe Mom’s rustling those pots and pans in the kitchen and on a weekend you know what THAT means……BACON!
Sammy Having Breakfast

A little bacon sprinkled on top of my tuna! MMMMMMM

    • Hi Caren……that favorite of yours is one I’ve heard SOOOOOOOOOO many times and it still makes me laugh. Rodney was corny to the maximum but hilarious at the same time. I felt “dated” when I read the one-liners but thought they were worth sharing………

      Happy Saturday

  1. Funny stuff, there, Sammy. Thanks for the smiles!
No snow for us, just lots of wind and rain yesterday. But the sun was out later in the day, and I think it’s supposed to be today, too.
    Happy Caturday!

    • Glad you got some kitty giggles out of my bloggy today Sundae! It’s sunny here this morning but the wind is howling like crazy. It made me nervous last night and I even went up and got at the foot of my Mom and Dad’s bed for a while until I felt safe.

    • Hi Easy! Hope your paw is a bit better (or even a LOT better!) today. Gotta put on your dancing shoes for the ball and if that foot is swollen it’s liable to be a rocky trip to the dance floor! Glad you enjoyed Rodney’s one-liners – pretty funny stuff!

  3. Good old Rodney…He may not have gotten any respect but he sure got the laughs! Even though they’re corny, his jokes always made me chuckle.
My bacon supply is getting dangerously low!! Gotta remedy that.
So glad we didn’t get any snow. Just rain and more rain and wind. Still thoroughly tired of winter!!!
    Warm hugs,

  4. Snowed here overnight, too. Still snowin’, in fact. They said up to 40cm but we’ll see. Hope the peep doesn’t have to spend too much of my chin scritchin’ time shovelling the snow.

    • Oh my I should hope the peep knows that chin scritchin’ and fur pattin’ and treat dispensin’ are EVER AS MUCH impawtent as that shovelling stuff. You all can always gang up on the peep if too much “kitty time” is spent on the great outdoors!

      Happy Weekend, Sammy

  5. Hey, our dad had bacon this morning and we didn’t get any. What’s that about? The kids here have been out of school four Fridays in a row because of snow. They sure like it, but we are getting a little tired of it. Come on spring! Have a warm and fuzzy weekend. • Well, I’m thinking that you all need to stage some kind of protest on the “bacon withholding policy” there. Your Dad could EASILY have given you a bit to chew on but he was apparently being selfish (which is an entirely HUMAN trait you know!). We’re ready for Spring here too………but if I can stay in a sun puddle inside the house then I’ll settle for some more Winter……..

    • Hi Gang!! Glad you enjoyed Rodney’s “one-liners” ! Yep – we only got a tiny bit of snow compared to up north – we were lucky this time. Bacon – the world isn’t as exciting (or tasty) without it….you all need to stage a PROTEST with your humans demanding some ASAP!
