Hi All!
Well, it’s official…….Mom has the plague…….OK – so it’s not the plague but she’s sick and that’s that! However, I’m “on the case” so to speak so you know she’s in good hands between me and Dad.
She thinks it might be a mild flu…….who knows……all I know is she’s up for a couple of hours then has to take a nap (snuggle time!!)…..then back up……then back down……you get the picture – kind of like a human yo yo.
This morning she felt good enough to clean the house with the monster though – – – but by the time it went back in the closet she was pooped. She’s not coughing a lot though – YET. As her physician, I predict (I’m a physician and fortune teller combination) she will be coughing actively by tomorrow. Yep.
Dad and I are hanging garlic wreaths all over the place and…….what? What’s that you say Dad?………that’s to keep vampires away? ………. oh……… sorry about that ……… a little misunderstanding…… well, Dad and I are keeping our distance from Mom anyway – neither of us want to get “IT” (whatever she has). I have to admit though, I’ve taken advantage of her lap whenever she’s been seated while resting. Can’t resist her lap….it’s my favorite napping spot after all. I just don’t breathe her air so I don’t get her germs. I mean I love her and all but honestly………there’s a limit. 😀 😀
Don’t worry Mom…….Doctor Sam is gonna take GOOD care of you! Trust me……….

peeee essss Today would have been my Grandpa’s 96th birthday…..I never knew him but I know my Mom misses him tons so that’s good enough for me……Happy Birthday Grandpa in heaven……. 😉

Hi Mollie!! Yes indeed I’m doing a super special job of making sure Mom behaves herself. She’s actually letting Dad do a lot of the stuff she normally does around here…….like cooking (yikes!) and cleaning (yikes again!). He’s doing a pretty good job with my supervision though. 😀 😀

Hi Molly! I’m taking special care of Mom believe me. She’s NEVER sick so this is something new for both of us but she’s being pretty good about following Doctor Sammy’s orders so far.

Hi Cupcake! Thanks for the wishes for my Mom….I’m gonna run into the bedroom and tell her RIGHT NOW! I’m taking super good care of her. Hi Easy! Ah yes – I remember the clothespin therapy….!! So far her nose isn’t involved in this illness – just the cough thing (which makes it tough to sit on her lap when she’s hacking like that!). She says she feels better today…..but Doctor Sam will still be in charge of things around here believe me!

HAHAHAHAHA! Know what? We don’t HAVE any clothespins – isn’t that awful? However, I do think she could possibly stuff a big wad of tissue up inside each nostril which would be almost as hilarious as a clothespin would look! HAHAHAHA

Hi Miss Pix! I tried to get Dad interested in making US (!!) some bacon this morning but he didn’t……..HE wanted corned beef hash and eggs. Well, needless to say, I was a bit disappointed at a baconless Saturday. However, Mom told Dad that she’d like to have a BLT for dinner tonight (tee hee….I know she said that just for ME!). I’m keeping Mom nice and warm – trust me!

No more cleaning…………she’s officially IN BED for the duration (well she may have to go potty so I let her up for that) – Dad and I are waiting on her hand/paw and foot/claw! Thanks for mentioning my Grandpa – no doubt that’s on Mom’s mind too!

Something funny: the other day my human had the beginning of a cold or something like that, too. And she had read that a lukewarm beer taking before going to sleep could stop it. Well, apparently it did! But you should have seen her face after drinking it! Silly human! Sometimes I wonder if they don’t do it just to make us kitties smile!

Gee – if my Mom had known about the lukewarm beer thing she would have given it a whirl! If it worked on your human there MUST be something to it! Mom’s been sick for three days now so I don’t know if it’s too late for the beer treatment but since Mom’s favorite football team is playing tonight – and beer and football definitely go together – she says she’ll give it a chance! Thanks Texas… 😀

My human says she has no idea if there is any scientific base to it but she was ready to try. The beer should be warmed to much or it can cancel the positive effect. Also she only warmed about half the beer and ended up drinking only half of that because of the taste.

Hi Boys…well, Doctor Sam is doing the best he can….she SOUNDS better today so that’s some progress I suppose….and she went to bed super early last night and slept right through which is also good. My physician skills are rather finely tuned aren’t they – and it only took THIRTEEN years to get to that point! HAHAHA
