Make Believe….

Standard

Happy Monday Morning!

This morning I’m having a little fun with some of my Mom’s paintings that I look at every single day hanging on the walls of her studio (where my duplex is!).  I look at the painting and decide WHERE I would want to be if I was “there”………

For instance, if I was “in” this picture, I’d want to be up in the tippity top of that red lighthouse – spying out a little window and watching the seagulls swoop around on the beach!

If I was in THIS picture, I’d want to be up in the woods at the edge of the big rocks – watching the waves (and again probably keeping one eye on the seagulls just in case one landed right in front of my nose!!)….

This one is super easy…..I’d be lying on this great front porch….maybe even sitting in that rocker…..just hanging out – maybe even napping!

This one is a little tougher – it’s an old covered bridge – but I think it would be neat if up in the rafters of the bridge was a spy spot I could have climbed up to; maybe even some convenient birds nests up there too so I’d have plenty of “entertainment” !

I think if I was in this one I might be peeking out one of the windows in that great big white house……watching the sailboats sail by:

And in this one, if I was here, I’d……………….wait a minute!…………hey hey……….with THIS picture, I don’t have to “imagine” – this is NOT one of my Mom’s paintings, this is a photo of my house and I live here NOW and chances are I’m on the front porch – lovin’ life and wishing my Mom would quit snapping photos and come sit with me up here on the hill!

If you could pick one of the paintings above to be “in” – which one would it be and where would you be if you were there?????

Happy Make Believe Monday………….and don’t forget tomorrow is Teaser Tuesday………..!

  1. This is easy, Sammy. I’d be with you wherever you are in the pictures. Nothing like great kitty company to brighten up my day. Are you still getting rain? We had rain yesterday and it’s still coming down this morning….great napping weather!

    • Hi Miss June! Awww…..aren’t you a sweetie for saying you’d be with me wherever I was. Wouldn’t that be swell??? We are getting rain this morning – misty/light stuff but it’s WET so that’s all that counts. It’s also pretty coolish outside again so it just might be – as you said – GREAT napping weather!

  2. Good morning, Sammy. Isn’t my Auntie June a sweetie??? At first I thought I’d say that I’d be with you on the front porch, but since I’m an inside kitty only, maybe I’d be INSIDE that house, watching you in that rocker!
What a fun game, and your Mom is one talented lady!
Happy Monday – it’s a rainy morning here.

    • Hi Sundae! I like that old house on a lake painting BESTEST of all. When I was deciding where I’d be in that one – I gave a little bit of thought to saying “inside the little boat” because it might be a nice nap spot BUT what if it accidentally slipped into the lake???!!! I wouldn’t like that at all!

      Love and Happy Rainy Morning!

  3. My word, did your Mom paint those? They are fantastic. If she did, then please tell her I am so impressed with how talented she is.

I see you always pick to be on the top of things. Does that mean you’ve got used to looking down on everyone now?

    • HA! Never thought about that “on top of things looking down” thing but perhaps we superior felines have delusions of grandeur? Mom thinks that’s probably true! My Mom has painted for many years and sold most of her work but saved her “favorites” – they hang in her studio and that’s what I see every day when I’m keeping her company there.

If I tell her you think she’s talented, will that make her head swell up great big?? I want to be the only one with a big head in this house! Tee Hee 😀

  4. The lighthouses always remind me of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. That is where I would want to be, along the coast of Ireland looking out to sea… By the way, did you know the word muir is Gaelic for sea?
I love all the paintings and you have such a gorgeous home, Sammy!!

    • Hi Miss Trish……I hope you get to go to Ireland soon because I know you’d love it there. My Dad has said many times that he’d like to live in a whitewashed house with a thatched roof, up on a high cliff overlooking the ocean where he could hear the waves hitting the rocks ALL day long. My Mom says the same only she’d throw in a beautiful garden too! They don’t ask for much do they?!?!?! 😀 😀

Sammy your Mom is so talented!
My Mom and I both said we would like to sit on that charming front porch. We would love to relax and watch the world going by around us. We would both like to feel the breeze, I would sit on Mom’s lap on a porch screen and she could pet me while she daydreamed or would just be reading a book.
we are also in LOVE with your gorgeous house, Mom is dying to walk barefoot in your grass.

    • Hi Cody! Well, honestly, that picture of my yard was taken before all the grass died and turned brown but it occasionally looks like that – just not recently occasionally (hahahahahaha). Anyway, I’m with you – I love that old house with the porch and the rocker with the lake in the distance and my Mom says she’d love to go there for two weeks to WRITE and READ and snuggle with me (funny though she didn’t mention Dad in her little scenario!!!!!).

      Have a happy Monday

Great pix on your contest Mollie – – – people are going to have a heck of a hard time deciding on what to vote for!

      • There’s no difference..In the south of England we call it a Bacon Buttie in Scotland..now they’ve lost the plot ( I’ve got Scottish family, so I can say that! ) They call it a PIECE AND BACON…Like we say, we are going shopping..they are going to get their Messages…Mad isn’t it?????? xx00xx

        • I think languages are totally interesting…..I hear “bacon buttie” and “bacon sarnie” and for the longest time my husband and I have wondered WHAT THE HECK IS THE DIFFERENCE?!?! You’ve answered that! YAY! Anyway, Sammy loves bacon all on its’ own but I only give him a wee bit – we all deserve a forbidden treat once in a while right??

  6. Wonderful post Pam. I can picture myself in all of those beautiful paintings…especially the one with the covered bridge. Maybe it’s the fall feel of the picture and the fact that the leaves are beginning to change here but I can see myself driving a pair of horses down that road and thru the covered bridge.

  7. Those are beautiful paintings your mom made, Sammy. If I had to pick just one to imagine a place in it where I could be… let’s see… I would pick the porch. We have a veranda at our house and I love sitting on it. Safe, comfy, close to home but still outside in the fresh air. Ah yes… purrfect. purrs

    • I like using my imagination too Texas….my Mom says she does the same thing when she’s painting the pictures – it helps her make them come alive (so she says….whatever THAT means!!!).

  8. I really like your human’s paintings! My human used to paint when she was in high school – she took lessons – and recently she brought some of them home from her dad’s house. They are not very good – she is debating whether to hang them or hide them.

    • Hi Nellie! I know you had a fab time with Allred on your camping trip…..wouldn’t it be fun if ALL of us brought our tents to a great big campground and roasted marshmallows and told stories about our humans around a campfire at night and stayed up as late as we wanted and ate things we’re not supposed to eat???? 😀 On second thought maybe we’d all wind up getting sick from our “excesses”!! Sometimes it’s better to just IMAGINE things than it is to actually DO them…….. 😉

    • Hi Boys! My Mummy can’t draw an animal or a person to save her soul! 😀 Isn’t it funny that she can paint landscapes and all manner of other things but can’t paint “living” things. There are some wonderful animal portrait artists out there but my poor Mum isn’t one of them….LOL….Actually we think your “little hoomans” do a mighty fine job with THEIR artwork – they did a wonderful job of illustrating the last story your Mum did with you guys in it!

You guys look mighty cute with your noses up in the air like the little princes that you are!
