Such a Purrrrfect Day

Standard

Happy Sunday!  Yesterday was such a perfect day in every way.  The weather was so nice – no humidity – sunny – 80 degrees – breezy – quiet.  My parents and I spent a good deal of time outside enjoying it.

Enjoying the yard and the nice fresh air!

Purrrrfect!

My Mom said it was the single most perfect day of the summer – at least so far – and that it almost felt like an early Fall day.  If the number of acorns falling from the oak trees is any indication she’s right – Fall is on the way alright!  Remember last year one of my friends sent me this funny picture of me wearing an “acorn helmet” because I complained about how often I’d get whacked on top of the head by a falling acorn??   I’m going to need to dust this baby off and start wearing it again I think.

A photoshop funny picture from a friend!

Well, it DOES protect my noggin you know!

Won’t be long before I’m sharing photos of the pretty maples, oaks and poplars as they start to change color.

Photo of one of our maples from last Fall….purrrrfect!

Did you realize that it’s only four months until Christmas???  I’d better start on my Wish List for Santa Claws.

Gosh – listen to me – I’m talking about Christmas and it’s still Summer and not only THAT, it’s liable to be 100 degrees and steaming hot tomorrow and all these “Fall-ish Feelings” I’m having will be evaporating into thin (and hot) air!

I think I’ll just concentrate on one day at a time – – – speaking of that, this is Sunday morning and that means…………BACON!    I think I’d better hop off the computer and go make sure Mom has everything in the kitchen under control…..smells like she does! 😀 😀 😀

Happy Sunday Peeps!

    • Hi Sundae…..yes I did enjoy my bacon and it’s probably a good thing I was outside yesterday because I doubt I’ll be out today. It’s kind of overcast and we had a TEEEEEEEEENY shower a little while ago. Maybe it will be a snuggly kind of day in the duplex?

      Happy Sunday Sundae!

    • Oh dearie me Mollie, I didn’t think bacon would survive the trip to England so didn’t save any for you! You’ll just have to get your Mummy to share some with you…..just give her your very best pouty face (get Alfie to help) and I bet you’ll have some of your VERY own before you know it! I guess you’re helping your Mum with all those photos you guys got for your contest huh? My Mom sent a LARGER one in of me since the first one was so small – hope it works!

  2. Funny that you mentioned the acorns, I was thinking the other day that after our extra hot summer, Fall would be arriving early, then a dear friend was visiting and happened to mention the falling acorns and how the squirrels have been unusually active this August. She said that is a sign of an early fall and a super bad winter. I don’t mind because Fall is my favorite season and after the summer we had I could care less how cold it gets this winter. Please remind me this winter that I said that when I complain about the cold. Love, “Mom”

    • Hi Miss Caren! We’ve always heard the same thing here about lots of acorns, busy squirrels, and how it may mean a hard winter. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if that happens this year – but Mom and I are with you…..we love Fall and the fireplace crackling and the pretty leaves on the trees. It’s been such a HOT summer I think we’re all wanting some relief. So no complaints from me when I have to wear my acorn helmet to protect my noggin – just means Fall is coming!

      YAY! Happy Sunday!

  3. Glad you have your ‘acorn helmet’ all ready for falling acorns. Even if it is HOT, HOT, HOT today, it will still be purrfect in some ways. Brand new paper to play with AND bacon, bacon, bacon!!

    • Hi Miss June! I read the comics as usual (from the inside of the newspaper tent of course) and had a tiny piece of Mom’s bacon – now it’s time for a curl-up in the duplex for a dose or two….or three….or more. Hope you have a lovely Sunday!

    • We still get some days in the upper 90s and even higher so Saturday was a real “gift” with the 80s….today it’s been rainy and even cooler – like mid 70s but that’s changing starting tomorrow. Weird weather EVERYWHERE this year right Goose???

    • HA! I thought it was very clever of Mom’s friend Miss Penny to come up with that acorn helmet to protect my old noggin from those falling acorns! They can pack quite a punch……

  5. I love acorns! When my sibs and I were still living outdoors, my mama gave us acorns for toys. She didn’t have much money… being an abandoned cat and all. But she found acorns and turned them into toys for us. I had the best mama in the world, you know. I’m gonna blog ’bout these acorns this fall, I think, when I get in my fresh supply. Mama will be sending them from Heaven, now. purrs

    • Hi Nerissa….I think it’s VERY sweet that your Mama would give you and your brothers and sisters acorns to play with. They are fun to push around! I usually play with them outside but I bet my Mom would bring one or two INSIDE for me if I asked. I do have a big old walnut that I play with (shhhh…don’t tell…but I stole it out of the big bucket of nuts my Dad keeps by his chair to snack on!!). I’m sure your Mama will be sending you lotsa acorns from heaven – always and forever!

remember, you should ask Santa for a beret! royal blue or green would be good.

    • Absolutely! I certainly will be putting a beret on my list – Chun and Sprocket look so very handsome in theirs – I’ve been envious of their berets for a long time; it’s time for me to have my own! 😀 😀 😀

    • Well Savannah – guess what – bacon isn’t really good for you so it’s probably good that you didn’t like it! It does make the house smell yummy though doesn’t it?!
