Hi Gang! It’s me……..the old guy who’s been sacked out for the past three days since my vet checkup. 😀 I’ve not exactly been a live wire that’s for sure – spent more time than ever in my afghan tent sleeping/snoring away. My Mom and Dad were worried about me. But this morning, when Mom came downstairs to make coffee – I was waiting at the bottom of the stairs with my striped tail straight up with its’ customary curl at the end and I ran into the living room right to my tissue pile asking her to play with me.
C’Mon Mom! Let’s boogie! I’m feeling perky today!
She did of course…….we played “hide the toy in the tissue” and “where’s Sammy?” with me hiding under the tissue……then she went to my little red wagon where I keep my toys and pulled out some stuff I hadn’t seen in a while – almost as good as getting NEW toys when you see some of your OLD toys again!!

I was particularly interested in a piece of ribbon – an OLD piece of ribbon in fact – one that I’ve had for TWELVE YEARS! The red ribbon in this picture of me:

Mom said “who needs NEW toys when you can rediscover your OLD toys” !! Know what? She’s right. I have a lot of toys and tend to play with whatever is the newest thing…..but those old favorites are pretty cool too. You might consider giving that a try yourself everyone! Go dig around in your toybox or wherever you stash your toys and find something you haven’t played with in a while……!
I’ve been thinking about my contest and what it will be – there’s a lot of blogging buddies who are having contests and stuff right now so I’m going to wait until later in the week when things calm down a bit to announce MY contest. Besides, I haven’t quite decided WHAT it will be……(tee hee). Send in a suggestion if you like – maybe YOURS will be better than MINE!
Meanwhile, I thought you’d like to know that I’m feeling a lot better today…….it’s Monday – let’s make it a good one OK gang?? 😀

Hi Rumpy…..Mom says ALL Mommies do that – I think she’s right!! The vet man called to say my blood work was great and told Mom that the rabies shot seems to be hard on lots of animals afterwards with the “sleepies”…..boy I sure had them!!

Sammy you are too much, just too cute. I was a teeny bit worried with all the sleeping you were doing too but then I remember how our ZCatter was pooped out before the vet that came to the house. The car ride just took it out of her. I think she was a bit ticked off at us too… 🙂 I am so glad you are feeling “perky” this July Monday. You look very cute with your red ribbon as a baby. Can see your Mom hiding a toy under your tissue and you pawing at it, makes me smile.

Hi Pix! Yeah I really was pooped but now I’m unpooped – Mom was so happy when she saw me waiting for her at the bottom of the steps this morning. The vet called and told Mom my blood work was GREAT and also told her that most cats have a lot of naps after the rabies shot but especially older ones like me. So I guess that’s why I was “too pooped to pop” the past few days. That red ribbon has been a lot of fun today…..I think Mom will find another treasure in my toy wagon for tomorrow morning UNDER the tissue!!!! 😀 😀

Hi Mollie! I know that you tend to EAT your toys after you beat them up (!) but I just bet there are a FEW that you have and haven’t ripped to shreds – right? And that doesn’t include any plastic bottles you have lying around there either……you’ll have to show us the “non-eatable/non-destroyable” toys you have in your blog one of these days! 😀

Well, I have a dr’s appt. this week, Sammy. Just hope I don’t feel as sleepy as you did from your appt. Glad to see you’re your perky self again. If you’d napped much longer, your Mommy might have taken you BACK to the vet to be sure you were all right!

Zero, “King of our home” always has to sleep a lot too after he gets some shots…..he is 16 though, so maybe he just needs lots of kitty naps…I’m sure your Mom and Dad are very relieved that you are back to your old self 🙂

Wow….16 is really a senior citizen! Are there pictures of him on your blog Miss Rosemary? I’d love to see him…..we old guys DO need lots of naps (Daddy says he does too and he’s definitely an old guy ;)……). My parents are very happy that I’m better today that’s for sure. Me is still pretty tired from my weekend so there is no playing happening with me today, though I DID play “great Thundering Herd” in the middle of the night and got the hairy slobbery sisters and Kozmo playing too! Purrhaps, if yous digs deep enough in your tissue, yous will find a treasure.

Hi Nellie! Gosh – I don’t guess if I tried playing “Great Thundering Herd” it would work would it! Sounds like a fun game though when you’ve got brothers and sisters to join in! I did actually find a treasure in my tissue this morning….one of those crinklie candies I stole from Daddy a month or two ago. It was under the pile and I found it and had great fun carrying it around the house for a while. You HAVE been super busy with the Cat-O-Lympics that’s for sure. I voted on both jumping contests. Very exciting!

Oh definitely! If the ribbon is “chewable” and small enough it most certainly COULD “go through”!!! I don’t chew on the darned things though…..gimme a good munch treat any old day over a ribbon. I had to learn the hard way about stuff that “doesn’t go through” when I discovered rubber bands….tee hee….

Hi Poppy! Thanks for the Poppy hugs…that was lovely! My red wagon is pretty cool isn’t it?! My Mom and Dad bought it at a hardware store but I bet you could find one online…it’s a Red Flyer Wagon and it’s a very famous company – it’s the tiniest size they make but it’s just right for me!!!

Sammie!! We are so alike!! I just started revisiting some of my toys too…I got bored with them or didn’t like them when Dad and Mom first brought them home…so Mom and I are discovering that now I LIKE SOME OF THEM!
