Hi everybody from the coolness of INSIDE my house in Warrenton, Virginia…….It was in the low 100s outside yesterday so I spent the whole day inside. Mom gave me a chance to go out with her a couple of times but did I? Heck no! Stayed inside – stayed cool as a ginger colored cucumber in fact.

Mom went out yesterday morning to do the grocery shopping and Dad went to the airport but they did those things EARLY – before it heated up. The people on the morning news even told everybody to keep an eye on their pets outside – make sure they had water, etc. Well, NO PROBLEM here – I was inside with plenty of water and food and treats and of course a lap available to me! I’m no dummy.
My Mom HAD planned to mow the lawn yesterday but with the air quality being awful, she decided not to add to the problem with her lawn tractor – maybe today – MAYBE. Wonder what kind of mowing pattern she’ll choose next? I’m thinking back to squares.
My Dad got to fly EARLY before it heated up. I’ve shown a picture of him in his hangar before but just in case you missed it and wanna see him:

He said it was a little bit hazy when he was up in the sky – probably already starting to heat up out there. He just stayed up about an hour then put his “baby” to bed (haha) and came home.
What am I up to this morning? Nothing yet – it’s too early to get into trouble do much of anything yet. I’ve had breakfast and my post-breakfast wash-up and Mom hasn’t let me have a sniff of the great outdoors yet to know whether it’s HOT or NOT. If NOT I’ll see if I can get her to take me down the trail to check things out. I heard her tell Dad that so far the deer haven’t eaten her plants. That’s a GOOD thing. We don’t want Mom to be grumpy now do we?
What kind of things make your human grumpy????????? Now come on – there must be SOMETHING????!!!!!

Good Morning! We were 96 here yesterday and they keep telling us rain this morning. They tease. 0.3 of an inch they tell us. Bah! I stayed on the four seasons porch in ac cooled comfort and played with my tissue. Kidding! I read my book and did laundry and put fresh water in the birdbaths. Tell your Mom to take it easy on the mower, it’s too HOT to mow! Love the picture of you with your tissue. Snazzy “ride” your Dad has there… 🙂 CH had to check it out!

Hi Pix! Mom changed her mind about mowing…….it’s just plain too hot and my Dad insisted she WAIT for the weekend. Boy would I ever like a four seasons porch OR even just a screened porch. Mom has promised me one in our next house. Promises, promises….She said to tell you that she will spend her day doing laundry and reading instead of mowing. She CAN be quite sensible sometimes. 😀 😀

I do believe it is hotter in the NE than it is in NC right now. I have been trying to stay inside, too, Sammy, and all three of my dogs have remained inside as much as possible. It’s definitely the Dog Days of Summer already!

My human is grumpy because she had to cancel her BlogPaws trip. Mom started having kidney stone trouble (shaking chills and pain) and then woke up today with a miserable head cold. Mom worked so hard on BlogPaws and bought so many things that she is beside herself. 😦

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Oh Cody, I’m so sorry your Mom couldn’t go to BlogPaws. I know how hard she worked to go. It’s not fair that she got a cold AND kidney problems all at one time. I’m saying kitty prayers for her and my Mom is saying the other kind for her – so please give her a big hug from us will you? Take good care of her now – she NEEDS you!

Not getting to eat on time makes me grumpy! We were out in that heat most of the day yesterday, and while it didn’t make me grumpy, it did make me HOT AND TIRED! Hope you have a super cool day today!

Hi Miss Linda! I agree with you about not eating on time being a “grumpy” thing. It happens to humans AND us animals too! Mom isn’t going to mow after all – it’s already horribly hot out there so I convinced her to stay inside with ME (more lap time ya know!!).

Keep cool, Sammy! The kitties in SP#1 are grumpy because they aren’t allowed to go out on their porch when it’s this hot. Most of them realize they don’t WANT to go out there, but some of them still like to have a choice. At the moment, though, we’ve had to lock their kitty door. 😦 What makes me grumpy?! When other people exhibit bad manners… (I run into this very often around 4-year-olds 😀 We’re working on it though!!)

Hi Miss Melanie…that’s OTHER 4-year olds I assume – NOT yours!! I’m glad the kitties in the shelter can stay cool – makes me think of all the kitties who aren’t in shelters and don’t have homes who are out there in all kinds of weather – hot and cold and everything in between. I’m missing the outdoors but it’s almost too hot to stand on the sidewalk so I’m just staying cool as can be inside. Katarina looked pretty comfy napping indoors on your blog!!

It has been nice enough for a few days, but tonight I have reached for an old sweatshirt. Wimbledon is about to start so the rain is inevitable.

Yikes Callie! We only had a couple of days of super hot weather so far and it was TOO MUCH – a week’s worth would be pretty horrible unless of course you’re always inside where it’s comfy! I’m staying indoors myself today – things are supposed to cool down a bit and I’m hoping that actually happens. Have a super weekend Callie!

Oh Wow! Same plane huh? Well, it’s a nice little airplane and while I’ll never be able to fly in it, my Mom goes all the time and loves it as much as Dad does. I like having my four paws ON THE GROUND myself. Hope you boys all have a super weekend……. 😀
