Rainy Day Napping

Standard

What’s better than a rainy day for NAPPING?  Now be careful how you answer that.  Think about a nice rainy day – you’re all curled up on a favorite blanket, quilt, bed, soft chair, floor (?), cat bed, and you hear the sound of a gentle rain on the window or roof…….you get drowzy just listening to the steady sound of drops dropping.  Before you know it your eyes get heavy and WHAMMO – you just drift off.  Kinda like the picture at the bottom of this blog.

Mom went to the dentist so she was gone all morning – Dad kept me company and we patiently hung out together – me staring out the window and him reading a book in the library.  Soon we heard the garage door go up and there was Mom!  I followed her right on her heels when she went upstairs to change clothes, then back downstairs to get the mail, then finally she landed in her recliner and I could hardly wait for her to put the blanket on her lap.  I hopped up on her legs and within about two minutes I was SOUND asleep!  Of course she just happened to have her camera in hand so that’s why I was caught in this rather compromising position!!

So – whatcha think…….rainy days YAY or rainy days NAY?  You already know how I vote……………… 😀

  1. Right now, I would settle for rainy days, yay! But, normally, rainy days make me sad. I am just a lover of the sunshine. I know the rain is a necessity, but I have always thought that it should rain at night…that way I would sleep very well, and be able to do all the fun stuff in the daytime. Sounds like a good plan to me… Glad you enjoyed your nap – you do look comfy!

    • Hi Miss Linda…you know, that “rain at night/sun during day” thing sounds pretty good to me. I guess everybody would be happy if it was like that all the time huh?

Have a super SUNNY day today…..we enjoyed our rain all day and night but the sun’s back today.

  2. I love the rain, and this spring we, in south Louisiana have had our share, so far. I think that rain you were espousing about was some we sent you, free of charge of course.

    • Hi Sundae! Talk about sweet pix – those photos you put on the blog this morning were really fabulous! Yeah, the rain was so nice for napping and Mom always catches me snoring away – good thing there’s no SOUND attached to those photos she takes huh?!

      Love, Sammy 😀

  4. I think we have your rain this morning, Sammy. And if your Sunday is like ours is supposed to be, you’ll be so busy napping you won’t have time for your Sunday newspaper!! You’ll be snoozing away.

    • Hi Miss June! I heard from Miss Dianna that you’re going to get a lot of rain there – – I think we’re supposed to have a bit too – I hope so. It will of course be grand for napping, but the poor plants need some WET!

  5. I know we need the rain for all the plants, crops and things and stuff Sammy but rain tends to make me sad like Miss Linda mentioned. I want the SUN! I don’t mind a good shower here and there but when it rains all day and is dreary and rain filled for days I get a cranky. Love the picture of you on your Mom’s lap. Such a sweet fuzz face.

    • Hi Miss Pix! It’s sunny today so I’m a happy boy too. The sun feels good on my occasionally achy old body (Mom says the same thing goes for her!). So you like that photo of my fuzzy face? You’re sweet to say that….Mom has two more she took during that same nap period…..I’m sure they’ll be showing up soon.

      Have a happy SUNNY day!

  6. I figure, it’s always best to make the most of what you’ve got. If you’ve got rain, the peeps can’t go outside to play so if they’re kept in (case they melt or something), there are always nice snugly laps upon which to nap. Looks like you’ve found a great one there with your mom!

    • Good point! On the melting peeps thing, I’ve always wondered why Mom insists on having an umbrella with her when it’s raining…now I know…she might melt! Wow…kinda makes you wonder though what exactly they do in that bathroom when they take a bath or shower to keep from melting!!!! 😀 I think your philosophy is swell. Make the most of what you’ve got. If we all did that it would be a MUCH happier place huh? (that goes for peeps too).

    • Hi Maxwell! Way cool to meet you and Faraday. So you guys like a swell rainy day too huh? They really are purrfect for naps. Mom’s always posting pictures of me sleeping – I’m sure people think that’s almost all I do but it’s NOT. I’m an only cat so it’s up to be to patrol this whole big house, keep an eye on my parents, talk to the squirrels and birds – it’s exhausting hence the need for MANY catnaps. I’m on my way to try and visit your blog now….thanks for visiting mine!

    • Hi Faraday! I just sent your brofur Maxwell a message but the same one applies to you too! It’s really nice to meet you guys and also nice to meet fellow fans of the rainy day catnap. I don’t have to call dibs on my Mom’s lap because I’m an only cat so her lap is MINE ALL MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Normally I hate rainy days because they make my beloved sun puddles disappear, but when you put it the way you do, they sound awfully appealing!

    • Oh Savannah I HATE Hoover day (although here it’s Dirt Devil Day)…..the monster comes out of the closet and makes all that racket – NOT GOOD. But we have to keep our houses nice and clean and free of our kitty cat hair so we just have to grin and hope it’s over soon!

      Hope your Friday is QUIETER
