Yesterday it was incredibly windy here. I didn’t used to mind wind that much but the last couple of years, even if it’s sunny and warm out, if there’s a high wind – I’m staying in. Mom says she thinks maybe since I’m “mature” (haha) now, I’m a little less SURE of myself when I can’t rely on my nose to tell me when things are safe and secure outside. She may be right. We do use our noses a lot – we cats – and I guess dogs do too. But ANYWAY, since it was windy, I stayed inside mostly and did what I REALLY enjoy best which is NAP!
So of course since I’d settled on Mom’s lap – and this time she had her camera handy, she took a couple of close ups of yours truly. She SAYS I was snoring at the time but she has no proof (!!).
Dad came home today by the way with a new toy for me. It was actually a keychain he saw at the local hardware store by the checkout and on the end of the keychain was a rubber chicken. HAHAHAHA Dad took the chain off and gave me the chicken. He thought since the Evil Mr. Chirpy Caper that Kozmo and I worked on last week, maybe I’d like to have a chicken of my very own to play with. Well, I picked it up a few times and tossed it in the air then tried to bury it in my newspaper/tissue pile (YES I still have a pile of tissue of my very own). Mom and Dad are trying to figure out WHY I keep burying it. I’m not telling. HAHAHA……….I know – I’m just a little devil aren’t I ??
Happy Thursday Peeps – your pal Sam
Aw, Sammy, those are great pictures of you snoozing! Don’t worry: that ear hair just makes you look distinguished!
How nice of your dad to celebrate the Mr. Chirpy Caper by bringing you a rubber chicken – our “parents” are always thinking of us.
Hope today will be less windy, so you can enjoy being outside.

Hi Sundae…looks like the wind will be visiting us again today. Harumph! Oh well….at least it will be a lot warmer – maybe I’ll be brave and go sit on the porch in the sun with Mom – if I stay on the porch, the wind can’t “get” me!!

Bury that darn chicken! It may be a spy from you know who.

Yikes! I hadn’t even THOUGHT of that Uncle Jerry. You don’t think the evil Mr. Chirpy planted a “bug” in that rubber chicken do you?! I may have to bury it even deeper in my tissue pile than I had yesterday. Thanks for reminding me.

You do have napping down to an art, Sammy! And you look just fine, ear hair and all! I believe that is a sign of maturity – at least that’s what the fellas tell me – so wear it proudly! Have a great day and hope you get to go outside.

Sammy Hi!
OMC we don’t like the wind either! It is just awful! The wind has been super bad the past few days. Nearly blew Dakota away at the park (which wouldn’t have been a BAD thing MOL!!)
Your Dad is a cool guy getting you that rubber chicken…hey…isn’t there a joke that goes “did ya hear the one about the rubber chicken?”
MOL!

Hey Cody! It’s windy here AGAIN today but at least it’s going to be in the 70s. I can perhaps put up with a bit of wind in exchange for WARM. Dad’s gift of a rubber chicken has been a mixed blessing. It’s got a really weird SQUISHY texture which I’m not “sure” about….and it’s wiggly when I poke it with my paw….but it sure is easy to bury in my tissue pile then pretend it’s lost and dig around to find it. Ahhhhhhhhhhh kitty games………….gotta love it!
Have an awesome day dude…

Dear Sammy,
Yous looks just so cuddly! Me should teleport over and snuggles with yous. Me has a rubber chicken from a keychain too! Me has hided it so Cinnamon won’t munch it and Mommy keeps finding it in strage places.

Oh Wow Nellie! Do you think we have the same rubber chicken?? Does yours have little orange feet that are connected together? Is it a really squishy yellow chicken and fun to poke? I bet we have the same one. At least I don’t have to HIDE mine because I’m an only-cat and nobody can steal it from me…..I’ve got to learn how to teleport – wouldn’t it be cool to just zap yourself anywhere you wanted to? “BEAM ME UP SCOTTY”…..

A good opportunity to catch up on the sleep and prepare for spring, Lucky Sammy!

Hi Miss Isobel…today was very springish and if it hadn’t been for the bigger wind than yesterday’s, I would have been out there more than I was. It got into the low 70s here and that’s like 20 degrees warmer than it should be. My Dad gave up on winter and put the snowblower away – that’s a sure sign we’ll get snow though don’t you think?????? 😀

Sammy, even those fine ear hairs can’t keep high winds out. Enjoy the napping.

Hi Miss Layla…..the wind today was way way more than yesterday’s so while I did go outside a few times – they were short trips. My ear hair was really whipping around and when I held my nose up in the air it was just too confusing to me so I went back inside. I bet Wild Man Odin doesn’t even NOTICE wind does he?!

I so totally agree. A gentle breeze is one thing but a super big wind is nothing but scary.

Yep – sure is. Did it again today. How can I be my usual laid-back guy kind of self when the wind’s whipping around outside?! Makes it tough on a guy.

So much for vacationing at your place, Sammy. I hate the wind, too! I hope you’re staying nice and toasty warm inside. I’m sure your mom mistook the sound of the wind as snoring – everyone knows cats don’t snore…
I’m with you on the chicken, too. Bury that thing as quick as possible. They’re evil creatures!

Hey Pedro…..I did tell Mom that that so-called snoring was merely loud purring but she didn’t buy that. Harumph. As for the rubber chicken – guess what doesn’t have funny little orange feet attached to its skinny yellow legs this morning?!?! Mom was surprised to find my footless chicken on top of my tissue pile this morning – why was she surprised? I have no idea…I would have thought she knew when I got that thing that those flappy little orange feet would be the first to go!
