Rainy Day Activities!

Standard
What a view!

Rain, rain, and more rain....I'll have to find stuff to do INSIDE today!

Hello Everybody…..this morning is day two of pretty much non-stop rain.  I got out briefly yesterday but today sounds like it will be raining CONSTANTLY.  Ho hum.  That means Mom and Dad will be reading and I’ll be………what?  Hmm….oh yeah!  On rainy days, Mom and Dad try to keep me occupied with extra play opportunities.

Like for instance:

I'll just stay inside and play all day......

Playing on the stairs! Chase me!

I love for someone to chase me up and down the stairs – or throw my ball down so I can run after it…..or hide on the landing and wait for someone to come up so I can grab an ankle……tee hee

OR………maybe I can dig around in my toybox for something I haven’t played with in a while:

My toy box is actually a toy WAGON!

Lots of stuff to choose from...maybe the raccoon tail??

Say….I know… I could drag my whistle around and make it rattle….Daddy can’t resist chasing me when I do that!

Mom and Dad also sometimes drape blankets or afghans over furniture to make “forts” for me – that’s way cool too.  Gee – come to think of it I have NOTHING to complain about on a rainy day.  This is going to be a lot of fun AND, the weather guy said this morning it’s going to rain the rest of the week…..that means it’s FUN FOR SAM week!  WOO HOO!

I’m so lucky to be so spoiled……………..kitty hugs all around!

  1. Wow, Sammy – you make rainy days sound like so much fun. I’m not nearly as playful as you – but I do like to run after my Mom as she walks down the hall. We play peek-a-boo around the doorways.
You’re gonna have lots of time for rainy day activities this week!

  2. Hi Sundae…….Mom and I just visited your Mom’s blog – way way cool about the mysteries at Bacon’s Castle when you visited to check for damage…..Mom LOVES a good mystery (since she’s written a mystery novel)……but anyway, I have BIG PLANS for playing today. Mom already made me a cool “tent” in her studio – put an afghan over the couch….nice hiding spot…..

I like peek-a-boo too AND hide-and-seek. Being a “forever kid” is way neato isn’t it?!

  3. Mom and I love the name “Bobo” Miss Caren…..no doubt he was lovin’ his life with you like Cody does now. Both of us are lucky to have a Mom who “gets” us and gives us the love and fun we cats SOOOOOOOOO enjoy. Maybe the rain will stop long enough for me to go outside and see if my friend Freddy the Frog is in his usual spot! I know Freddy likes rainy days too.

  4. I think it’s wonderful that your mom and dad drape things over furniture for you, Sammy, and play with you on rainy days. And I love the idea of your mom and dad curling up with good books, too. I am still waiting for your mom to finish the sequel to The Mystery of David’s Bridge. I loved Bailey and wanted to read more about her adventures.

    • Hi Miss Trish……I’ve been having a lot of fun this morning but I finally “played myself out” and had to take a good old nap. I plan to spend most of the afternoon that way in fact – snoozing through the rain. It’s a QUIET rain – no rumbling or grumbling or loud noises!! Maybe Mom will write a follow-up book to that “Bridge” thing – – I’ll tell her you want her to…..she hears that from other people too – maybe once she gets the book with childrens stories done she will work on another novel.

  5. Hi Sammy, sorry I am so late, but it has been one of those mornings.

What a great life you have up there on that hill with all your toys and mom and dad to harass and play with. Even parent-made forts you can creep around in and imagine all sorts of things.

Rain. We down here have sent that wet stuff to you. Four days of rain was quite enough for us. Have fun . . .

    • Hi Uncle Jerry and Zoe…..thanks a bunch for sending all that rain up here from the Gulf after you were through with it. We’re WET and will be the rest of the week. I’m having a blast playing with my parents though – but I believe it might be time for a good old nap. Mom’s headed to the recliner and you know what that means!
