Hi All! Happy Monday………….
You know Mom has put most of my Christmas toys away now – she probably thinks I won’t remember all of them next year and she can “re-gift” them to me and I’ll think they’re new all over again…….well, she may have a point there. If I haven’t SEEN them for a year they WILL seem new.
Anyhow, the last one she was packing up was a toy that my buds Mollie and Alfie sent to me – a “Santa on a stretchy string” kind of thing which I REALLY just loved from the minute Mom waved it in front of my face.
One day I was playing with it all by myself on the floor and had the stick in my mouth and somehow – we still aren’t sure HOW – I got the stretchy string flying through the air and it landed across my head! The Santa was just hanging there in front of my eyes on the stretchy thing……I FROZE IN PLACE………COULDN’T MOVE A MUSCLE…………Mom started laughing like a banshee and Daddy grabbed the camera (because Mom had tears in her eyes from giggling) and snapped this photo of me. I seriously held this pose for a good five minutes………why? Not sure…….but the fact the string was on my head and the Santa was dangling there threw me off my game! I didn’t think I should move!
Alright………maybe I do look silly…………but when I sent the photo to Mollie and Alfie they thought maybe I should share it with all of you.
I guess we all like to pretend we never do anything totally silly (and lose our dignity as a result) but we also all know that “ain’t necessarily so” !!!!!
Thought I’d start your Monday off with a bit of a giggle……..hopefully you can stay in a good mood all day!

Sammy, I would not have known what to do either! Humans – they think they can humiliate us kitties on the internet and we won’t get back at them. Maybe we can’t work the camera, but we can still tell secrets!
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:17:01
You’re right Sparkle……and I think we ALL have some pretty darn embarrassing stuff we could tell if they don’t watch their step!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 04:18:14
Hahaha, Oh Sammy! You’re funny.
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:16:21
It was pretty silly, I’ll admit…….and I just sat there like I was in suspended animation for the LONGEST time!!!!! DUH!!!
Kitty hugs, Sammy
Jan 07, 2013 @ 04:45:36
BOL I’ve done silly things like that before but luckily my mummy never got a snap shot of them! You’ll get your own back at some point Sammy! Toby xx
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:15:51
I sure will be looking for opportunities to get some revenge that’s for sure!!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 05:04:06
Poor Sammy, being laughed at like that when you were clearly terrified of a hanging santa on your head. Tut, tut to your parents
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:15:15
HA! Well I figure part of my so-called “job” around here is keeping the troops entertained. It’s the least I can do. If I have to look like an idiot for a few seconds with a Santa toy draped across my noggin then so be it! We’re keeping our prayers going for your Jangles Miss Susan……I hope she’s home soon…….
Kitty Hugs and love, Sammy
Jan 07, 2013 @ 05:22:42
BOL that is very funny – don’t worry pal we are laughing with you!!
Jan 07, 2013 @ 05:41:41
I’d blame the cameraman! Tall tales are fine but useless without evidence.
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:12:02
Oh my parents have LOTS of “evidence” – it’s quite embarrassing in fact how much evidence they DO have! If only I had my OWN camera…..boy oh boy would THEY be in big trouble! Tee Hee
Happy Monday!

Oh Sammy! You look so sweet. Perhaps you just liked your santa earring:-)
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:11:03
Hi Misaki! Should have had TWO Santa earrings don’t you think? On the other hand, I look rather “pirate-ish” with just ONE earring! HAHAHAHAHA

This post allowed me to laugh. I suppose so because I recall ever kitty I ever had and they all did things like Sammy. I remember as a kitten Buggar stood on his hind legs and boxed the nose of out Pitbull/German Shepard mix, Noodle. The dog could have eaten Buggar with one bite but never harmed a hair on his head, unless there was a chili bean at stake. That’s a whole other story. Thanks for sharing that even as an adult kitty Sammy can still entertain us all.

Sammy is getting on in years but he really still has so many kitten moments and obviously enjoys his little life. As long as HE’s enjoying himself, WE are enjoying him and ourselves. He’s brought so much to us and asks so little in return. One of the fabulous things about having an animal family member! Love the names Noodle and Buggar!

I’ll have to tell you how they got their names sometime. Let’s just say they fit. LOL – Bob
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:02:31
Cute, cute picture, Sammy! I don’t think you look silly at all; I think you look adorable – as always! Tell your dad good job on taking that picture!
Love, Sundae
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:08:36
Aw Sundae……shucks……thanks! It was a rather silly moment I suppose – I just sat there with that string dangling in front of my eye…..for the LONGEST time. Mom simply couldn’t quit laughing…well I’m SO GLAD I can be entertaining!!
Love, Sammy
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:13:14
That’s a great picture … I think better a Santa hanging over your ears instead to have beans IN your ears. Have a funny Monday ;o)
Jan 07, 2013 @ 07:22:12
I agree Easy….if I had beans IN my ears I wouldn’t hear Mom call me to come eat!!!!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Jan 07, 2013 @ 08:14:43
yep that’s pretty silly for sure…..maybe he really was “Evil Santa?”
Jan 07, 2013 @ 10:06:11
HA! Could be – he certainly tried to tie Sammy up that’s for sure!
Pam
Jan 07, 2013 @ 08:49:54
Oh Sammy I think that little Santa is darling. It’s ok Sam, we all have our moments!
Jan 07, 2013 @ 10:05:37
Hi Miss Pix! That’s what my Mom said…..if there’s been a camera around during some of HER most embarrassing moments – well – let’s just say it wouldn’t have been pretty!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 08:55:39
Sammy, you definitely started our long day at home (one of many!) with a giggle!
Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Jan 07, 2013 @ 10:04:50
Hi Miss Katie and Cocco!! I was just visiting your blog to get an update about “The Girl” and her surgery but couldn’t SEE the photos or read it either….this old/slow computer leaves me out! Anyway, I’m assuming all is well and that certain little creatures in the family are getting THEIR share of treats in addition to your daughter’s???? Well, who could resist Coccolino after all?! Continued prayers for a super fast recovey for “The Girl”…..and hugs for everyone!

MOOOOOOOOOL
Oh Sammy, pal. I’ve done things like that before. Only that I am very lucky there’s no photographic evidence. And I’ll tell you a secret, when I get something on my head, I don’t move either. I don’t know why, I just stay there very still until they take it off
Jan 07, 2013 @ 16:55:25
Wonder why that is Jay? Maybe we’re not sure if we SHOULD move…or CAN move. All I know is it sure made my Mom go into hysterics. Good thing someone was there when it happened or I might still be frozen in place!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 13:50:46
You’re so funny, Sammy! Your mom has a good idea about the regifting. At my house, Mom keeps half my toys (the ones that overflowed from my toy box) in a bag in the closet. Every once in a while, she switches them into the toy box and puts the other half in the closet. I am always excited when this happens. I think, “Yay! Mom went shopping!!”
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Jan 07, 2013 @ 16:51:56
Mom says “what we don’t know won’t hurt us” and know what? I think that’s true when it comes to our toys………Mom puts stuff away then gets it back out a few months later and IT’S ALL NEW AGAIN!!!!!! YAY!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 14:02:08
Oh Sammy, that photo is priceless..BOL you silly nana
Playing catch up as you know
Love you all xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Jan 07, 2013 @ 16:51:06
Hi Mollie! Yep – I followed your advice and posted that wacky photo of me with Santa on my head. Oh well…..everybody’s getting a good giggle over it so I’m happy!

Sammy, what’s happening..I left you a post and it’s not going through
Jan 07, 2013 @ 16:50:22
Hi Molls! I found your post in the WP spam file for some weird reason….but I “unspammed” it and here I am!!!! I’m glad you liked that photo of me looking ridiculous with that toy you and Alfie sent me – anything for a giggle! Besides, you suggested I use it so I did……….you have GOOD ideas girl!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 16:02:51
“oH no, santa got you tooo!!! See I told you Santa is noooooo goood! Did you see what he did to me in one of my videos, scared me half to death, and now he tangled you all up so your own ma can laugh at you! He is still torturing us even after the holidays. But (snicker) it was kinda funny though….” – Kirby
Jan 07, 2013 @ 16:48:37
Hi Kirby! Sadly I can’t see videos on Mom’s ancient OLD-fangled computer. It’s a shame….we have dial-up so can’t watch way cool stuff like the video your Mom posted today of you playing at doggy day care!!!! WHAAA! Anyway, I don’t mind Mom laughing at me really – - – I get some pretty good laughs at the stuff SHE does too……

Jan 07, 2013 @ 17:52:26
I can understand your surprise, Sammy! I mean, one minute you are playing with the Santa on string and the next it seems like the Santa on a string is playing with you. Shocking. I think you handled this situation very well
Jan 08, 2013 @ 07:26:26
Thanks Remy…….we older guys need to keep as much dignity about us as PAWSIBLE! That Santa toy is safely tucked away in a big bag with other Christmas stuff until NEXT year….by then I’ll have a better strategy to deal with a wild Santa I’m sure!

Jan 07, 2013 @ 19:44:27
HAHAHAHAHAHA uncle Sammy that is just too funny. I would have jumped so high up. And that would have been funny too
Jan 08, 2013 @ 07:25:24
I probably would have jumped high up in my youth but at my age, sitting there not being sure what to do came naturally! HAHAHAHAHA

Hugs back!
Jan 07, 2013 @ 21:37:17
Sammy! Yous not the only cat that has done this! Even me! Queen Penelope has done it! And me is furry thankful there is NO photographic evidence
Kisses
Nellie
Jan 08, 2013 @ 07:18:40
Well Nellie you were lucky NOT to have a flashy box handy when you accidentally did something with a toy….I on the other hand wasn’t so lucky. Daddy was too fast for me (and I was frozen in place so I guess I made it easy!!!).

Those sneaky Santa’s – gotta watch out for them!
Jan 08, 2013 @ 07:17:52
I know what you mean Princess Z….I’m glad my Mom got some good giggles out of my over-enthusiastic slinging around of the Santa anyway!

Jan 09, 2013 @ 06:56:04
Hi Timmy…..yes I guess we all manage to make ourselves look silly from time to time…..look how FREQUENTLY humans do it for instance! Well, I just need to be more careful about the stuff I do when one of my parents has custody of the camera!
